I have been working at PhysAssist Scribes full-time

    Pros

Great experience with medical staff and hospitals
    Understanding and accommodating schedulers
Many people there to help you and clarify any concerns

    Cons

Sometimes weird hours but that comes with working in an emergency department
    Not very high compensation

    Advice to Management

PhysAssist has a great staff who is always willing to help scribes and accommodate any of their concerns. I have always received prompt emails back from staff members who really seem like they care. Specifically, Natasha Colas is so understanding of any of my scheduling concerns or questions and it really makes me feel heard as an employee. Thank you!

I worked at PhysAssist Scribes (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working with this company was a great experience, where I was able to learn a lot about medicine from all of the providers. I was also able to build a rapport with my co-scribes, which made the work a little easier to handle. Everything was fast-paced, there was often a quick turnaround, and the workload was overwhelming at times. Overall, it was a great experience once you get used to the amount of cases and how quickly you have to complete the cases.

    Cons

The pay was minimum wage according to my state. The amount of work I did deserved more than minimum wage.

I worked at PhysAssist Scribes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The experience you get as a medical scribe is unparalleled since there really isn’t any other job that you get to see the interaction between the physician and patient. It’s something new every day, especially if you’re in the ER

    Cons

The pay could definitely be more for a heavy work load and our particular clinic had issues being understaffed since our “back-ups” usually had other jobs and were never actually available.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that back up employees that are meant to be subs actually have an available schedule so that they can come in when coverage is needed, and let them know that’s their job as we were told no many times.
