I worked at Physical Research Laboratory as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It has excellent instrumentation. You will get best exposure. There is some quality support of the guide and PhD fellow.

    Cons

They do not give authorship to intern students. Their internship starts in late summer. A separate work should be assigned to the intern from which a small paper can be published.

    Advice to Management

The poster presentation should accompany the power point presentation .The internship should start earlier. All summer students should be accommodated at one place.

I have been working at Physical Research Laboratory as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

A person can gain good exposure to scientific work & research environment with state-of-the-art labs. It depends on the kind of post a person is appointed to, but i am sure most people will agree that it is among the best places for research in the country. And i would like to mention i loved the hostel canteen - great food!

    Cons

Its a government institution; so things, sometimes, might take time to proceed. But i guess its unlike the drag that is found in many other government setups.
