I have been working at Physicians Immediate Care part-time

    Pros

I love the fact that this is a practice that allows us to use all of our medical knowledge. It’s a very mixed bag in terms of run of the mill urgent care issues like URI’s and complex injuries, travel medicine and infectious diseases cases that make you use medical reasoning skills to the fullest extent. You also never feel alone. Should you have a question, you always have a colleague either near by or a phone call away that is willing to help.

    Cons

The cons would be that while you can see some patients quickly, you will learn that patients with more complex concerns, take more time and this is when time management and good team work makes a world of a difference!

    Advice to Management

Helping patients understand that wait times are estimated and not 100% correct and that certain patients are triaged before others due to severity of complaints.

I have been working at Physicians Immediate Care full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small clinic, meeting new patients, full time hours.

    Cons

Training is chaotic. Back room staff aren't on the same page, and the training staff isn't present.

    Advice to Management

We have trainers to train us. Where are they? The new staff have to wing it, or look online how to do something. When we ask other staff, we're lucky if we get the proper answer, because they don't know either.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree that our training process has to be improved. We apologize for the confusion you and others are feeling, and I want to assure you that changes are coming.

I worked at Physicians Immediate Care full-time

    Pros

Nothing good to say - the CEO is a psychopath who only cares about raking in $$$ and not caring about his employees.

That goes with all of their management actually. Its no wonder noone wants to work for this company.

    Cons

Long hours, abusive leadership team and worst place I have ever had the displeasure of working at.

    Advice to Management

Nothing to be said that hasn't been said time and time again......

I worked at Physicians Immediate Care full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can use the immediate cares for a discounted cost.

    Cons

Worse company I’ve ever worked for! Honestly, if I could rate them 0, I would. I’ve never came across a company that only looks out for themselves in upper management. There is a lack of training. Management makes it hard to know what they want from you. One moment you can be given the idea that you’re doing great, the next, you can be let go because they decided, after you’ve been hired, that you came from a different work environment and it’s not the right “fit”. It also doesn’t help when the manager is all over the place. If they have a lot on their “plate”, then why bother working for that position. As for training, it’s “learn on your own and from your peers” type of training. To make matters worse, everyone talks behind their backs, including management and physicians. I find this very unprofessional! This company is very money hungry and needs to reevaluate their ethics with its employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn to communicate with your employees instead of having them guess around.

I have been working at Physicians Immediate Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to learn because there are so many different patients throughout the day.

    Cons

Co-workers train new employees and they feel like they are not being paid enough, so they half train.
Upper management does not show staff appreciation, you will only receive emails.
Days are long and sometimes breaks/lunches are missed due to understaffing. Not much room for advancement, when something was set up to the pay raise was very low and not worth the trouble that you went through.

    Advice to Management

Please understand that people get tired and life is different in the clinic than it is in the office (where rules are being made).
Show the clinic staff more appreciation. We work hard everyday.
Rules and procedures should be uniform throughout all of the clinics. There should be enough staff scheduled daily in order to keep things running smoothly, from the PA's, Dr.'s to the RT's and PCT's.
