    Pros

High hourly pay, great benefits, amazing people. Positive reviews by multiple current and former employees. Professional call environment.

    Cons

Phone number listed on the website to contact them is useless as it goes to a directory where you have to know your party's extension and there is no way to search for an extension or browse through them. This includes HR, so you cannot double-check receipt or status of an application.

    Advice to Management

Don't say you "can't find an application" after someone has not only received an email verifying it but sent that email BACK TO YOU that includes the reference number for the received application. This is like saying you "can't" find a house with a map and a GPS and the person living there already got a letter from you.

I worked at Physicians Mutual Insurance (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, good calls, good training. Nice cafeteria. Good parking. Good pay. I think the benefits would have been there eventually. Part time work. I loved the waterfall on the physicians campus. Beautiful area

    Cons

not enough space, shared desks, scripted, not enough time to eat. I found it hard to be myself with the the customers on the phone because of the scripts. I felt isolated where they are located. Not enough natural light in there. Don't allow employess on the grass on campus by water fall cafe

    Advice to Management

I know it takes money, but you have to open that up more. And the dress code also needs to be changed.

    Pros

PMIC is a solid company with good financial ratings. They strive to be innovative and be better than other companies in the insurance industry. PMIC prides itself on its 97% customer service rating. Since new Home Office leadership changes have come about recently, things are only getting better!

    Cons

The company seems to have difficulty keeping up with the latest technology since it has to make sure to keep all systems secure...I imagine it is very difficult.

    Advice to Management

Continue listening to your managers and agents in the field; perhaps realize that it may be time to adjust the percentage of profit for Med Supps downward a bit; continue to advance training for agents; relax your contracting quotas and focus more on training agents effectively in order to keep them.

Check in with agents and/or field staff to get a true picture of how some of your managers speak to and or treat their agents and staff...remember that folks generally only show you what they want you to see.

    Continue putting customer service first.

    Pros

None---unless you just like to study and watch others make money.

    Cons

Terrible leads--One out of a hundred--If you are lucky--lots of door knocking, cold calling and "No" for an answer--if you expect someone to answer the telephone--forget it!

    Advice to Management

Catch up with other insurance companies' technology; otherwise your retention rate is going to be zero.
