    Pros

Interesting projects that aren't cutting edge but pushing industry limits. Great work life balance with a solid 40 hour work week block schedule allowing to leave the office for personal appointments. Decent amenities.

    Cons

Depending upon your team, there might not be many growth opportunities. Pay for medical industry is lesser than that of tech industry but is made up for a higher work/life balance. Teams can move slow in development cycle as a result of requirements for heavy documentation because of regulatory issues.

I worked at Physio-Control (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is really nice here. Lots of interaction between employees. Volleyball games and other community based activities to take the pressure of the workplace off.

    Cons

Work you till you're exhausted. Not always clear instructions, projects can be very loosely defined which can pose a challenge.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees more

    I worked at Physio-Control full-time

    Pros

Very positive, enthralling culture. Easy to feel passionate about such a great mission. Salary and benefits were good.

    Cons

Management was sexist and had open affairs with lower level employees. HR did not step in to support employees rights.

    Career opportunities were limited.

    Advice to Management

Come up to speed on what is expected from a company in 2016.

I have been working at Physio-Control full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very innovative, life-saving company. Smart, talented employees working together towards the same goals. Constant communication from upper management. I'm proud to work here.

    Cons

Good ol' boys club. Management is made up of men who have been with the company for 20+ years. Though new younger employees have been hired more recently it's unlikely to see much infiltration into the tight knit management.

    Advice to Management

Keep rewarding the employees who produce strong results, work well with different departments, and dedicate their time and energy to successful completion of projects that satisfy their customer needs. Let go of the people who hide behind their inflated salaries and do not produce any satisfactory results. Invest in your team members and the working conditions.

    Pros

Nice facility. Good product. Good market reputation. Many new employees; not stagnant. Just completing FDA consent decree oversight.

    Cons

Bain Capital (VC) subsidiary. Missed 2015 profit targets; U.S. manufacturing only. Trimming benefits, especially healthcare. No organized employee development / job rotation. Recent high management turnover.

    Advice to Management

Diversify manufacturing to exploit international markets. Improve product reliability. Offer better internal job posting and placement opportunities for retention. Improve health care benefits.

I have been working at Physio-Control full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are super friendly and you can get along really well with them. They also have their own cafeteria which is super convenient. Products are super awesome with really great technology.

    Cons

Developing their talent seems to be a minor focus. Been giving feedback on this but after months, nothing. No feedback, no action plans, just like it never came up.
Dozens and dozens of IT related issues which they cannot fix for months. We work with outdated and hand me down laptops.
    High turnover in Finance.

    Advice to Management

Focus on career development. Do something more for employee morale.
