I have been working at Physio-Control full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Internal career opportunities are good for people who are capable and willing to learn new skills. Middle management (operations and quality) is excellent and filled with people who genuinely care about your personal growth and happiness. The benefits are OK and look to become better with the recent Stryker acquisition. Onsite gym, cafe, community outreach, mission, and outlook all add to the wonderful things that are Physio.

    Cons

Certain departments run leaner than others (quality) and the work can seem endless at times.

    Advice to Management

Put more resources into quality, some of us are drowning in work.

    Pros

Exciting and positive environment. Management really cares about the products they produce and the employees they have employed there.

    Cons

Nothing negative that I can say at this time. All of my interactions with every level of management and with the company, have been positive.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! Stay committed with the team and keep the positive energy going.

I worked at Physio-Control as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very professional and pleasant environment. They take the time to attend to the details; this allows engineers to take pride in their work. The company has a strong sense of community.

    Cons

The traffic in Redmond can be really bad. My biggest regret is that my contract job expired too quickly.

    Pros

This internship was extremely fun and rewarding. You get to work on real projects that will benefit the company and you give a presentation to upper management and your department at the end of the internship.

    Cons

There weren't that any downsides to the internship. Everything was very organized and there was a plan every day and week for you.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to have as many interns as possible. The social events and projects were very fun.

I have been working at Physio-Control full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good reasons to work here are company's mission and its impact around the world. Company is in the midst of big strategic/execution changes (R&D, global organization) based on recent ownership change. Beautiful site/campus at HQ with tons of renovation going on.

    Cons

Commute to the main site can be problematic unless you live nearby (cross-bridge commute from Seattle is a bear and getting worse - not the company's doing, but a factor.)

    Advice to Management

Open up a satellte west side (Seattle) hoteling office for project teams to use from time to time and to recruit new talent from the NW biotech 'reactor core' neighborhood.
