I worked at Pick Up Stix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The upper management and owner are genuinly caring. It felt like family. Benefits were very good with a consistent bonus and annual raises.

    Cons

When there are coupons out it can get crazy crazy busy.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing by uplifting your staff and not tearing them down, it means a lot.

    Pros

They provide competitive pay, overtime hours and are a great place to grow your skills

    Cons

Long days and cooking usually required. Must be able to have flexibility in your own schedule. Not a management position where you can sit in your office

I worked at Pick Up Stix part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The other employees were nice and the customers didn't usually give us any problems, despite the amount of traffic. I worked nights and received free food after every shift.

    Cons

I was pregnant at the time of employment and there was no air conditioning. It wasn't that particular restaurant's fault and the manager felt really bad. Working next to a hot wok while pregnant in Cali is unacceptable.

    Advice to Management

I think you should have two chefs working at once so that they can take turns. I can't even imagine working an 8 hour shift with a 15 minute break standing over that wok all day, every day. Other than that, keep it up. You're doing just fine.

    Pros

Great company to grow with. Promotes from with in. There are around 70 locations so it has a corporate structure, but doesn't feel like it.

    Cons

50 hour work week most weeks. Runs with minimal staff so management needs to fill in hourly positions often for call offs.

    Pros

AMAZING opportunity for hourly employees. TONS of potential for cashiers to become shift leaders and managers. Great for brand new management to get some experience under their belt before moving on to a more professional and positive environment to grow in.

    Cons

POOR environment for skilled management. If you have any prior training, avoid at all costs.

    Advice to Management

Trust your skilled managers, and LISTEN to your skilled managers.
