I have been working at Piedmont Healthcare part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very organized. Very professional staff. Orientation is thorough. Policies and procedures have great evidence based rationales. There are many facilities to go to if you need to transfer or are in need of hours.

    Cons

No financial perks. Use of agency for staffing often. Other than that the organization does a great job at ensuring staff’s needs are met to efficiently do their jobs.

    Advice to Management

    Consider lower level opinions

    Pros

Good learning environment. Especially for a new grad. Decent pay and overtime opportunities. Several sites to transfer to. Co-workers are amazing and will teach you.

    Cons

PCTs (nursing assistant ) are allowed to do whatever they want including ignoring what has been delegated to them. Management turns a blind eye. Therefore, adding to more work for the RN.

    Advice to Management

You are wasting money by paying a staff that ignores their work. Implement a consistent supervisory position to oversee and hold PCTs accountable.

I have been working at Piedmont Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Large organization
    Various departments for movement
    Friendly
    Medium/low pressure

    Cons

    Slow to change
    Inadequate balance of of resources
    Ideas/strategies often silod or competing
    Lack career/professional development opportunities
    Poor ladder for growth

    Advice to Management

As we often focus on problems to fix, this really is a good organization. The issues are common across the industry. However, our objective is not to be average, but rather ideal as leaders and innovators. This is where we focus in our efforts. Likewise, this is where I focus on where we can do better by addressing opportunities for improvement. Identify internal talent and work to develop it and maintain it. Part of growing and progressing into the future is to work together and identify the talent and resources that will take you there. Resources are as valuable as strategy and ideas, without them, strategy will fall short on weak or absent foundations.
