    Pros

great people and product, employee discount is pretty good and benefits are standard, fun atmosphere

    Advice to Management

work on developing your management first because it's almost impossible to handle the task load on your own

I worked at Pier 1 Imports (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome merchandise for each season! Chill environment, low stress.

    Cons

The store can be very slow paced and I found myself with nothing to do at times, so all I did was arrange things over and over. Closers clean bathrooms.

I worked at Pier 1 Imports (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked at Pier 1 for 3 years while I was in college, and had a great experience. Great schedule flexibility for college students and motivating/positive work environment.

    Cons

Management was going through many transitions during my time there, which was a bit frustrating at times, but overall wasn't too bad.

I have been working at Pier 1 Imports part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I started out as a seasonal employee and decided to stay as an employee. They are very flexible with the schedule as long as they are not understaffed. It is great job for side money.

    Cons

Full time employment and pay is only available for management and above.
Sales position only pays minimum wage, so don't quit your day job.
If you end up at a store with horrible management or personnel skills, it makes the whole experience really disappointing.

I worked at Pier 1 Imports full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employee discount, job variety (sales floor, trucks, stock, displays, clean, cashier.) I love all Holidays, and with each season it was so fun to see the new merchandise and help people shop.

    Cons

Low pay, work a lot of evenings and most weekends.

    Advice to Management

Hire enough people so its easier to go to take time off for vacations, or even sick time.
