I have been working at Pikes Peak Community College full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    People are amazing
    Paid holidays
    flexible schedules - some departments
    close to home
    Constant learning environment
    Tuition reimbursement

    Cons

    Politics - too much politics
    Some policies are just silly
    Favoritism
    Older buildings
Employees who are Classified are almost impossible to let go which means keeping around people who are not good employees

    Advice to Management

Document what employees do so you can let them go and not make the good employees suffer or lose them! Don't let the 'bad' employee get away with everything and have the 'good' employees pull all the weight.

I worked at Pikes Peak Community College full-time

    Pros

Great location and people. The person in this position is able to interact with the entire community. Great cause.

    Cons

The pay as in any other nonprofit is low so there is a lot of turnover, especially in the low level positions. Other than that, its a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

I would advise the management to give people the highest salary possible so you can recruit more talented people that can stay longer.

    Pros

    Great student body community,
My particular position had a very low stress environment which i could see be true in many departments.

    Cons

Fairly difficult to progress up the chain in any of the departments.
The higher levels of leadership seem to be focused on themselves and not on progressing the college.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the students and the college
