    Pros

    Work life balance. Salary and benefits. Good place to build career depending upon your department and your position.

    Cons

    Salary is above average but the company was struggling financially. Not much to learn new things. Old technologies.

    Advice to Management

    Look into growing glass related businesses.

    People that work there are great.

    Cons

    The shifts would range from starting at 3:30 am to sometimes only working for 4 hours.

    Advice to Management

    Listen and consider employee complaints as valid.

    Great pay and benefits at the management level

    Cons

    No guidance from upper management to front line supervisors. No one willing to make a decision, blame is always passed onto someone else, poor union/management relationship, lazy people in key roles

    Advice to Management

    Give supervisors tools they need to do their jobs, hold other departments accountable for short comings, communicate

    Pros

    You're able to work overtime if you need it. They work there is easy.

    Cons

    They force you to do mandatory overtime even if you dont need it. It's hard to move up in the company for advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Have internships available for people who already work there, but want to get experience in an office setting.

    You get a chance to learn jobs for 7 days before choosing them.

    Cons

    Bad team play. They train one person and expect everybody else to train themselves.

    What they teach about team play at Elwood needs to be implemented on the floor.

    Steady employment , until they pull the plug.

    Cons

    No thoughts at all about the amount of hard work you put into managing your Operation, when all it takes is the stroke of someones pen to lock the doors.

    Listen to those you manage BEFORE you make up your mind.

    Pros

    The pay and benefits are excellent. They have a program to help with continued education and provide plenty of opportunities if you want to move around and work in different areas of the company.

    Cons

    Different business units have very different company cultures and it's not always for the best.

    High paying job for a hard day's work

    Cons

    Groupthink was a serious problem. Many old fashioned business practices that are holding them back, like siloing information.

    Advice to Management

    Embrace transparency. Foster honesty and openness. Invest more in R&D.

    Pros

    I have had the privilege to work for Pilkington North America for the better part of 7 years now. Pilkington NA definitely takes care of its workers and also presents opportunities to grow for any side or expertise of the business. The long, historical background of the Company also presents a unique opportunity to learn the trade from several different walks of life and tenure.

    Cons

    Work Life Balancing could be more in focus. In a mobile world, there are plenty of opportunities to support from anywhere at any time.

    Pros

    They have great health benefits, 401K, and development program. Global company with lots of room for advancement. Flexible working schedule. Great people to work with.

    Cons

    Not having IS people physically at locations in case we need them to fix something. Most plants have very old machines and robots parts are hard to find and are discontinued. All management styles are different
