I have been working at Pinellas County, Clearwater Florida full-time

    Pros

Good health benefits, with dental and eye.
    Professional work environment.
    Managers allow flexible schedules.
They have a tuition reimbursement program after your first initial year

    Cons

The tuition reimbursement program is only allowed after the first year of hire and it is a limited amount per year. If you are seeking an undergrad degree, it can be very helpful, however, the program will only cover 2 grad classes per year.

    Advice to Management

Increase the tuition reimbursement program. Surrounding counties offer twice as much per year. Allowing overtime instead of comp time should be at the employees option. It is their time after all.

I have been working at Pinellas County, Clearwater Florida full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Dedicated employees who want to work and are proud of what they do. Beautiful County and proud to show it off to the citizens and visitors alike. Decent benefits and compensation.

    Cons

Haven't had raises in 5 years. Lots of change over with good staff leaving for other government positions. It's VERY difficult to fire poor performing employees who bring morale down and don't do their work. It's also been very difficult to advance in the past few years with limited upward movement due to position eliminations

    Advice to Management

Change the termination system before you lose all you good performers and are left with only problems.
