    Pros

Great group of team members. Your co-workers really care about your well being.

    Cons

The main complaint people have is their schedule. Most positions are not an 8-5 due to being open 24 hours a day.

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone is on the same page at all times for things to run as smooth as possible.

I worked at Pinnacle Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There were a lot of opportunities to learn and interact with other departments. Excellent opportunities to get to know the guests. Many repeat guests that you end up considering family.

    Cons

There is a hierarchy between departments. It should be that we are all one team working towards a common goal. Upper management needs to take the time to stop and talk with hourly team members. Be personable, and be present. In order to effectively lead the team, you need to get to know your team. You set the example. How can you ask the team members to recognize guests, when you walk past hourly team members and don't even speak when spoken too. Very bad example.

    Advice to Management

While the bottom line is important, always remember that happy team members equates to happy guests, and that is always a great equation for revenue. Don't sell your team members short and expect guest appreciation to rise.

I worked at Pinnacle Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pretty good company to work for. Decent benefits, decent pay. It seems the Executive team genuinely cares about its employees and understands how important the front line members are to the success of the business.

    Cons

There isn't much coaching/mentoring going on there. And, depending on which property you work at, there are very limited opportunities for advancement.

    Pros

    Nice offfice and restaurants nearby

    Cons

IT Leadership is a joke, they play favorites and only promote legacy Ameristar employees. Unless you suck up to the CIO you aren't going anywhere.

    Advice to Management

Listen to exit interviews and take action

I worked at Pinnacle Entertainment full-time

    Pros

    Has a great looking facility.

    Cons

No leadership in leaders just bodies to fill those positions. Do not consider employees. Work you til your body aches( this is saying a lot bc I am a hard worker) Are not open to improvement even though they reach out to their employees to find continuous improvement. Employees give ideas to improve efficiency for guests and co-workers, and management never follows through or gives any feedback. Do not pay a living wage for the job that is performed. If you work here you will be expected to do 2-3 person job daily bc they are short staffed. Overworked employees who are not appreciated for their hard work. Employees unhappy with leadership so you will hear complaining daily from all ends bc leaders, management, and director of food and beverage fail to recognize changes that need to be implemented. Favoritism a huge problem and divides the staff into groups of unhappy workers out for themselves and not out for the common good and goal of a teamwork environment. Turnover high, leaders do not follow their own company core values which are as follows ( care, excellence, integrity, innovation, and ownership), so trickle effect occurs and then it lacks in employees. Talk about how profits keep increasing each quarter but wages do not. Very difficult and timely to receive a raise for committed workers. Majorly lacks appreciation for the staff's efforts. Fails to manage a restaurant properly and efficiently. Do not properly clean facility. Fruit flies and roaches are a problem that needs to be addressed. Guests eat and fruit flies fly near them and on their food. Had a guest show me a roach on the floor. Very embarrassing and disgusting. Bottom line for them is their profits unfortunately not employees. I have worked in food and beverage for 15 years and this is a place I would not suggest to work for anyone, unless you are looking for a miserable experience and work environment. One additional piece of information, you will work every holiday and it will blacked out every holiday weekend so you cannot request off. Not even 2 days before or after Christmas. They do not value your life outside of work as well. Also worked at their property in another state. Management a little more effective there. Transferred back recently to this property and it is in worse shape than before. My suggestion pass up this company and move onto the next. Managers and employees are unhappy here. Good luck on your job search. Much success!

    Advice to Management

Lead by example and follow your company values. Appreciation employees and their innovative ideas. Equally consider employees with your bottom line...profit. Drop favoritism and be an effective leader that creates a positive staff that works well together. You are causing your own problems with your lack of leadership abilities. Your cancerous management and leadership causes an ineffective and negative environment. Learn to collaborate with each other, instead of talking bad about each other. Take a class or read a book about interpersonal communication. You are stealing your employees care from them by your behavior.
