I have been working at Pinnacle Foods full-time

    Pros

Some people are easy to work with

    Cons

Lack of quality cross-functionals who actually know how to do their job or deliver when they're supposed to

Senior leadership cannot prioritize projects, and keeps adding on new projects without expanding resources---resulting in over-worked employees and lack of focus in the overall strategy

States candor is one of its values, but dismisses employees when they try to voice opposing views

    Advice to Management

Focus on the few things that need to be done and do them well instead of trying to do everything and doing them poorly. Make decisions and stick to them unless circumstances dramatically change.

I worked at Pinnacle Foods full-time

    Pros

Iconic Brands that can generate revenue for the Company.

    Cons

Worse Management I've ever seen. The Marketing teams are beyond reproach, act puerile and do not take any accountability. Supply chain has weak management that's detached from their direct reports and don't treat them with respect. The turnover validates the narrative.

    Advice to Management

Start over. The culture there is poison and this seems to be the consensus of everyone that works there. People leave this location and prosper elsewhere.

I have been working at Pinnacle Foods full-time

    Pros

Pay is decent, benefits are good except for medical. Easy to gain seniority because of high turnover. Large enough that you can move from area to area until you can find a department you can tolerate

    Cons

Management staff is very dishonest, pencil whip numbers to improve kpi, pencil whip numbers to show better than actual safety stats. They treat hourly employees as if they are expendable. Main focus is the dollar at all costs, including your family life. Treatment is so bad they can't keep good workers and they don't hire enough to accomplish the job, then try to hold others accountable for their failure. Look at the review ratings for this company, then look elsewhere for a job.

    Advice to Management

Clean house, efficient output is important but so are the boots on the floor that make it happen for you. Find a good balance or continue posting help wanted ads.

    Pros

All the overime you want and then some you don't, great benefits, good pay, health insurance, 401k, stock options, wellness program, on site nurse during day shift, ample parking, better security than most companies in the area.

    Cons

no work/life balance, inappropriate behaviors are tolerated and exhibited by certain members of management. Low morale. No advancement opportunities. High turnover. Little to no collaboration, more of the "whose fault is it" mentality. Very high incidence of injury-poor safety record.

    Advice to Management

Take a gut level honest inventory of the climate you have fostered. Change starts at the top and works down. The company has great potential. Don't give lip service to the core values.

    Pros

While the company is becoming larger, there is an entrepreneurial mindset, which it seems to have always had. People there truly make the difference. They are driven to win.

    Cons

Drive to win can mean growing larger while not necessarily staffed for the increased size. Thus, one can inherit more work. Detailed brand knowledge remains the same even as one becomes responsible for more brands. This 'con' is changing as there are additional faces coming on board to help manage, but the transitions can be a bit painful.
