I worked at Pinnacle Foods full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good Brands but that's about it! I spent 10 years there and the company changed drastically over my last 4 years. Not for the better.

    Cons

Understaffed and poorly run finance, IT, and fulfillment departments with no advancement potential for anyone who questions current practices. Poor work\life balance.

    Advice to Management

Consolidate corporate locations and get more involved in developing existing talent before lower management drives them away

I worked at Pinnacle Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People are genuine (at peer level). Most do not help others due to lack of time available to spare - company is incredibly lean.

    Cons

Tremendous amount of office politics (you'll notice those who succeed well know which particular individuals to become close with), little to non-existent work-life balance, not much growth opportunities due to small organization, health care package is poor, compensation is the competitive amount across the board.

    Advice to Management

Invest in employee development, increase head count, hire more quality people

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, growing company

    Cons

Too many middle managers who are not in touch with the business.

    Advice to Management

Remove some of the layers of management so employees can work together on issues instead of having a go-between to get something accomplished.

I worked at Pinnacle Foods full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, driven and passionate about work. Nice office setting.

    Cons

Direction from leadership conflicting at times. No integrated systems.

    Advice to Management

Just listen to your people, can learn a lot from parsing typical complaints from real issues.

    Pros

20$ an hour thanks to Union. Equipment is newer and lots of overtime. Shifts arent bad.

    Cons

Management harrasses you about how long you go to the bathroom, they try to accuse people of taking long breaks or screwing off by scan activity from forklift which very inaccurate. Management will screw with vacation requests and pay. Very hostile work enviroment.

    Very horrible place to work.

Some people only get 2 days off a month.

Many people have gotten divorces over being forced to work all the time. Even on some major holidays .

    Advice to Management

Start treating employees well and you might see better quality of work done.

    Focus on quality over quantity.

Start enforcing quality issues. Totes of vegetables with wood in them or holes used on production line.
