I have been working at Pinnacol full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I'm very proud to be a part of a culture which supports our team members and cares deeply about customers. It's an honor to make a positive impact within our Colorado community.

    Cons

I wish I would have found Pinnacol earlier

I have been working at Pinnacol full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great and culture is exceptional compared to other companies. Only minimum amount of mean people which is rare. PERA is a great benefit.

    Cons

Salary could be better - other carriers pay more but then again benefits are real good.

    Advice to Management

Promote people who work hard and deserve it. You know who they are.

I have been working at Pinnacol full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good; ability to work from home is nice

    Cons

Employees who are not qualified have been promoted. An underwriter was promoted to a business director and she has no management skills. She is not a leader and is not respected by employees. This promotion was simply done because she was friends with one of the hiring managers.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within based on knowledge and leadership abilities. There are too many layers of management. Management has taken away decision making from employees. Too much micro managing the last 2 years.

I have been working at Pinnacol full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Just name it and they've got it! They offer more perks than any other company I've ever worked for. What really makes this company so special are the people you work with and the people you work for.

    Cons

I can't think of any. I look forward to going to work everyday. I feel appreciated, respected and I feel this is a perfect fit for me.

    Advice to Management

The CEO will know your name. That's how engaged he is with the company and its employees. If you pass him in the hallway, he will call you by your name and ask you how your day is going. The management at this company really listens and puts a heavy emphasis on employee satisfaction.

I have been working at Pinnacol full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great (progressive) benefits and HR team
People care, care, care about injured workers and their wellbeing/experience and Pinnacol invests in that. Authentic, no BS. A bad experience is NOT okay
responsive to employee feedback and concerns
    good performance management process
great leadership team who are super engaged

    Cons

Some people barriers in the form of "stuck" employees who want to work very little and collect their pension
office/workspaces are corporate "blah" and it's a cube farm.
we're in a phase of vulnerability as an industry and we need to hyper innovate or die

    Advice to Management

Keep your eyes on being the disrupter (versus the disrupted)

I have been working at Pinnacol full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great Benefits
    - Awesome building with excellent amenities
    - Quarterly bonuses
    - Excellent wellness program
    - Great amount of PTO

I worked at Pinnacol for 4 years and left for a different opportunity elsewhere. It wasn't too long before I realized how much this company really cares about their employees. I have been given the opportunity to come back and I could not be happier.
Pinnacol really cares about its employees and does a really good job at making you feel appreciated. I have never felt more part of a company than I do here. I know it's far from being perfect but I don't believe there is a company out there that is.

    Cons

Work loads can be challenging but I know management is working hard to continue to make positive changes.

    Advice to Management

Keep gathering employee feedback and making positive changes that add true value to our work routine.

    Pros

Great benefits and perks for wellness.

    Cons

Poor management and promoting people without qualifications. EEOC issues, with inconsistent firing practices. Phony people in management. No room for creative and other ideas from people who know .

    Advice to Management

Get real.. Look for people who are creative and think outside the box... stop trying to clone and coach people into being the same person.

    Cons

Poor pay top talent is leaving the company. Management does not back or support their employees, very toxic place to work

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees they do not like to come to work. Most of the office is looking for another job. Work on your turnover.
