I have been working at Pioneer Center for Human Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Love the clients and group home settings. I've meet some pretty cool co-workers. I've worked on strong teams.

    Cons

The amount of pay, lack of communication from upper management/ supervisors, short staffed too often, no advancement, concrete ceiling job.

    Advice to Management

pay more money and maybe the company can keep employee's longer than 90 days.

    Pros

The clients are the best reason for working at Pioneer.

    Cons

They can't decide if they should expand or minimize - 3 separate layoffs in the 6 years I was there.

I have been working at Pioneer Center for Human Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved Pioneer for the past two years. Great co-workers and some great supervisors.

    Cons

Due to budget crisis and poor management at Pioneer, pioneer is losing Behavioral health and they are telling us little at what will happen to behavioral health programs.

I have been working at Pioneer Center for Human Services full-time

    Pros

I currently work at Pioneer. The Pros: We are fortunate to work with wonderful clients. A NEW CEO is in place. This is refreshing and he is proving to be what Pioneer needs. The clients and staff are being put first. The distribution of work loads and expectations of staff are reasonable. The client needs are a priority. The culture is starting to change.

    Cons

There is a mess to clean up. The lack of a state budget has impacted Pioneer as well as other agencies in the state. Pioneer battles negative press because of decisions, directions and actions made in the past. Some negative people.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward in this direction. Learn from past mistakes and don't repeat them. Ask the staff for input and listen to their responses. Be proactive. Be fair. Be honest. Be smart and most of all be at Pioneer for the client's benefit.

I worked at Pioneer Center for Human Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clients respond favorably to new programs and new ideas from incoming staff.

    Cons

Jaded staff protect their "gossip time" and do not produce work after clients leave PSR program for the day. Jaded staff will tear down hard workers who keep their heads down and do their billing work. Leave or better yet, don't apply. Pioneer is not good on your resume.

    Advice to Management

Train your supervisors in human relations so they are not toxic to their employees.

    Pros

Some of the employees (the ones that actually did the work to keep the organization running) were very good people, hard workers.

    Cons

For a not for profit, they sure can waste money on things they don't actually need even when money is very tight.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the big dollar Senior management and have a volunteer management. Learn to treat people with some respect

    Pros

ioneer has the ability to give the ckiiiits the training for living in the community indepensently. The uhpper management does not give the iopurtunity y]to try these \out. The upper management is a click and if are not part of it you know you will be firred,

    Cons

clicks, bad management, overworked, no professional codes followed, no respect to their fellowco- workers and clients and their families

    Advice to Management

show respect to each other. It will not get out to the families. Stoop the clicks and back up your fellow staff. There are many more but cant type it all,

I worked at Pioneer Center for Human Services full-time

    Pros

The patient's. Having the opportunity to be a positive influence on a person's recovery.

    Cons

Management. Lack of upper level management so the place is held up by completely unqualified lower level management. I have never seen such a jaded healthcare staff, as well. Very sad situation for patient's and a miserable working environment for staff.

    Advice to Management

Get more qualified management, have someone supervise lower level positions, they are running the facility and don't know what they are doing. There are so many issues with the way PCE is run I understand why you can find or keep a director.

I worked at Pioneer Center for Human Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The clients are awesome and some staff are great. The environment nice and rewards helping clients

    Cons

This place has no leadership. The management keeps employee that are cancers to Pioneer and get rid of staff that care about staff. HR department is not for the employees but for poor management. If they not there for employees how they treat the clients. The training is the worst HR so unorganized and not professional.

    Advice to Management

Needs new manangement for the DD homes!!
