I have been working at Pioneer Human Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful benefits, 403B,Medical, Dental, Vision, Tuition Assistance, payed holidays, sick days, and paid vacation days. I have found they work with my school schedule and encourage me to put my best foot forward.

    Cons

They don't pay very much and the industry is going through so many changes that it is frustrating to keep up with!

I worked at Pioneer Human Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This job gave me relevant job experience in the Criminal Justice field.

    Cons

I had no room for growth at the company and was never given an opportunity to advance (even with a BA degree).

    Advice to Management

    Give more opportunities for advancement

I have been working at Pioneer Human Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The Director and assistant Director are very approachable, as well as the House Managers. If you have questions about your role as a staff or how to handle a resident that is having a difficult time, they will brain storm with you and give you lots of positive feed back and help in anyway they can. There is also the opportunity for advancement in the programs.

    Cons

Can be long hours at times

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing !

I have been working at Pioneer Human Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good foot in the door company

    Cons

Insultingly low pay and low morale - management takes back stabbing at face value

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to the motives of underpaid employees and how it affects their ability to work in an interdisciplinary team

I worked at Pioneer Human Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

With the minimum raise increase in 2017 we got bumped up to the new minimum wage rate of $11.00. The companys core values sound impressive on their web site.

    Cons

Employees are not valued at facility management level. A lot of old bitter employees who look down upon the offenders. All things against company stated values.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to all your locations, not just those you are at daily. Appreciated employees do far more than expected.

I worked at Pioneer Human Services full-time

    Pros

My experience with Pioneer Human Services was very positive. The company does a good job letting everyone know what is going on with the company. They have a strong and important mission.

    Cons

As a behavioral health clinician, I was moved around a lot between departments as needed. There was very little supervision or guidance. Most of the time, I was making it up as I go.

    Advice to Management

I believe having a stronger behavioral health department, with supervisors who know the field and experienced in providing supportive supervision and support, is going to be needed if Pioneer intends to utilize mental health services as they move forward.
