I have been working at PitchBook full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of young people so it's prefect for new graduates.

    Cons

Terrible pay justified by the fact the market keeps accepting the job. Leadership is non existent. Training beyond the first few week is non existent. On research you will be micromanaged down to your last keystroke.

    Advice to Management

Treat people in research with respect and actually value them as people. Do management training from both inside and outside the company because there is no leadership at all. Start hiring older employees so that there are mentors to go to in the company for younger employees.

    Pros

Talented employees, fun environment to work in, great culture. First job I've had out of college but when i tell my friends about the training and professional development opportunities we have they seem very surprised. Not many companies invest so much in their employee's growth and knowledge. There is even a knowledge development team that provides many types of training although it does seem that sales gets the most training opportunities and being in Research it would be nice to have more training support.

    Cons

Pay is very low for entry positions especially in Research. They say they make up for this by having a lot of "growth potential" (i was told this in my interview) but it doesn't seem to be as true in research as other departments. One person I know is managing multiple teams on shore and off shore but doesn't even have a manager title. I also know a lot of similar companies in Seattle have better benefits and perks and it would be nice to have more competitive.

    Advice to Management

Realize that people won't stick around just because of great culture you have to also pay proportionately for the talents you hire.

I worked at PitchBook as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company culture was great. Everyone was friendly and willing to help you learn. The company seemed to be very unified in values even though there were many teams involved. Very cool location on Pier 56 in Seattle.

    Cons

The work space was a little cramped, but nothing very unreasonable. Some of the work was pretty monotonous and not very thought provoking.

I worked at PitchBook full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun company culture, rapidly growing business, potential IPO in the future

    Cons

You are asked to time all of your projects and this ends up being a benchmark for all similar projects. Lots of mistakes in the database due to more focus on speed than validity.

    Advice to Management

Find new ways to benchmark, include research associates and interns in sales calls, allow employees to understand the business on a more interactive level.

    Pros

Nice view of the sound. Cool workspace.

    Cons

Workers are worried about being fired for random reasons. It is hard to focus when senior management changes direction constantly. Bonus program is hit or miss and makes no sense. Favoritism is the only way to get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Create an atmosphere where workers feel safe, understand expectations, and know what is required to receive their quarterly bonus.

    Pros

Good co-workers, good product. Thats it!

    Cons

Management really lacks here. Not a fun culture to work in. Co-workers are great, but most aren't genuinely happy about what they are doing. We are overworked and dont get the praise we need.
Make sure you do your research before you think about working here.
