    I worked at Pitman's People part-time

    Pros

Pay was decent compared to other stewarding companies

    Cons

They were late to pay me some weeks and they didn't tell you about every shift as they had favourites. There wouldn't be work for a few weeks sometimes.

I worked at Pitman's People (More than a year)

    Pros

I dont think there are any

    Cons

They want you to travel to their office every morning and wait to see if you'll be given any work that day. If not, tough luck, and you just wasted whatever money it cost you to get to central London and back. When you do get work you can suddenly be placed on a site hundreds of miles away in Carlisle etc. If you have to stay overnight, they pay your hotel, but you have to share it with a complete worker who will likely be a burly foreign man who speaks little English. You'll feel your soul being crushed as the other employees talk to eachother in their native tongues all day and you're left to contemplate your decisions in your own head.

    Advice to Management

Keep voting for higher immigration so you can exploit foreign workers and undercut British workers.

    Pros

Best lies and promises you'll ever hear from anyone. Don't fall in their game as you will strugle.

    Cons

They mess with ppls wages not paying them corectly nor on time. No contact between office and staff. The managent is rotten.

    Advice to Management

Pay your lads corectly and stop taking advantage of people in need. Stop the lies with: there is plenty of work just bear with us. Worst crewing company ever.

    Pros

Flexible shifts when they were offered

    Cons

The hourly rate was lied about in the interview, holiday pay used to subsidize wages and not offered shifts unless they were short and was phoned at 6am the same morning.

    Advice to Management

Get organised, and don't offer wages higher than £7 if you aren't prepared to pay them.

    Pros

Doesn't require much experience. The holiday pay is quite good - £8.07. That's it.

    Cons

Where do I even start? I have not even worked ONE shift with these people.

    1. Went to the induction, was added onto the system and asked them how I can find out about what shifts are available and when. She said we will get emailed in a few days with the contact details. I was NEVER emailed.

    2. My friend who works for them passed on the leader's contact details and I messaged her asking about shifts. My message was ignored. I called the office to ask about shift availability. I was told there weren't any at all, but my friends all happened to get shifts.

    3. Wanted to work the shifts for Notting Hill Carnival - my friends were contacted and I was not. I called the office numerous times and they said they'd get back to me. No one ever got back to me.

    4. 2 hours before the carnival, I received a text saying I need to arrive on site on time. No location of where we should meet, no time sheets were sent to me, standard shift procedure wasn't followed. Of course I couldn't show up.

    5. Regularly they are late with pay, and often they overpay or underpay you or won't pay you at all. (I've never worked and so have never been paid but this is based on my friends complaints).

    6. At the induction, I was told there was a variety of roles available but my friends were only ever given shifts as stewards.

    Advice to Management

Disgustingly disorganised. Find a way to keep track of your employees, find a better way for communication, just find a way to fix your company entirely.

I have been working at Pitman's People part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's good if you want some quick cash and don't mind standing for hours on end. Plus you do meet loads of new people which is good.

    Cons

No organisation, most of the roles given require you to stand in the same spot for 5-7 hours not doing much.

I worked at Pitman's People as a contractor

    Pros

    Cons

lack of work-life balance, long hours

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your people!
