I worked at Pitney Bowes full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great benefits for employees - good competitive culture. Excellent training opportunities provided at all levels from Sales rep to Management positions.

    Cons

May Sell the company but currently have withdrawn from the current stance and are looking to restructure.

    Advice to Management

Make more joint calls between management and sales reps, especially on major accounts. Always willing to take the business but not always willing to support the entire selling cycle.

I worked at Pitney Bowes full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great incentives to increase sales and create friendly competition.

    Cons

Management is overworked and understaffed. They spend most of the day in meetings watching metrics, and that makes it hard to created great customer satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time with staff, and make sure they are not falling behind on admin work, because it affects their total quota at the end of the month.

I have been working at Pitney Bowes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great schedule 6-2:30. Let’s you have a life!

    Cons

Almost impossible to make a commission. You over call companies asking if they need ink for their postage meters. You make 300 calls a day and get told off by the customers all the time! Hard to make a sale because customers have been over sold and have no need to buy supplies. Plus a lot of companies are not using postage that much anymore. If you don’t hit your quota for the month, you get written up. If you don’t... hit 80% of sales, you don’t get a commission check for all the stress and hard work you did all month! After 3 write ups, they fire you regardless of you doing your job!! They have their own temp agency in house because they cycle through so many employees!

    Advice to Management

You see us working and making the calls! It’s not our fault if the customers have been over sold and don’t want to buy! This company is slowly firing due to people not using postage that much any more! Find a way to pay your staff different! You have great employees that you are firing and it’s not their fault! Some of these guys are working harder than the ones that luck out and get a huge account!

I have been working at Pitney Bowes full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very cool amenities, ARNP, chiropractor and a masseuse on staff sometimes.

    Cons

Unable to utilize any of the cool amenities because of fear of losing your job. Has gone from focusing on customer service and revenue to only caring about the call metrics that a 3rd party came up with because apparently management couldn’t come up with a plan themselves. Micro management to the max, more worried about when I have to use the restroom and how many calls I’ve made than how much revenue I’ve brought... in or why the business is dying. Upper management is out of touch, local management is a joke, the only motivational tools they use now are casual day “coupons” and FEAR of losing your job. Also local management apparently can approve vacation time and then take it away whenever they feel like it, seriously.. Terrible customer service, we literally have to decide what is more important, helping our clients or feeding our families because you can’t do both and still meet the newly required talk time and call metrics.

Abandon ship! I’m out of here. Just like the stockholders are..
