    I worked at Pixomondo full-time

    Pros

Great projects and fresh talent coming through all the time. Lots of Television pilots as well as shows on every major network to pitch in on, it's an exciting place to work.

    Cons

Sometimes it can be disorganized but they try hard to get back on track. The amount of work can sometimes be daunting but you know everyone there is in it with you.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more to new hires, empower your supervisors, keep your strong culture and thrive.

    Pros

They get some good work. There are some really talented people, who you will work with there.

    Cons

It's the typical end of the show, last month or few weeks, and you are expected to pretty much not sleep.

    Pros

    Coffee is warm and free

    Cons

Coffee Machine doesn't work half the time.
HR is not trained, managed or legally correct.
Management is built on zero accountability and no credibility.
They will promote entry level artists to senior positions with zero training or pay raise.
Coordination is rude to artists, and clients and their own team.
Artists are encouraged to use their own equipment, and the company will not provide them with any necessary upgrades as it costs money.
Artists are treated like they should be happy to work where they are and are discouraged if they are thinking about leaving.
    Contracts do not matter.
Investment does not exist in what the company does, only in higher up personal interests.

    Advice to Management

Start a new clean state. Remove these poor producers and hire professionals who care about the industry and what they're doing. Put actual investment into the company, the employees and their culture.

    I worked at Pixomondo part-time

    Pros

There are a lot of nice people who work at Pixomondo. Some of the projects that come in are really fun.

    Cons

They are quite disorganized. This isn't uncommon for VFX studios but I would say that Pixomondo is worse than average in this department.

    Advice to Management

Spend some more money on company infrastructure. In the long run a little more investment in support equipment and staff could save money as well as frustration.

    "Pixomondo-Burbank had a terrific crew"

I worked at Pixomondo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great co-workers
Lovely campus (Yahoo! campus) with on-site cafeterias, gym, coffee shops, gardens
    No office politics
    Good management
    Paid overtime
    Internet access (this was Pixomondo-Burbank)
Everyone got paid, as far as I know. It did not go down like Pixomondo-London.

    Cons

    Tough deadlines
    10-hour day standard
No health insurance benefits (some had this benefit, but I did not)
    No 401(k) plan
Pipeline efforts were highly appreciated by the crew and local management, but not by the parent company.
Pixomondo still exists, but it shut down Pixomondo-Burbank in 2013.

    Advice to Management

When I last worked there in 2013, Pixomondo had only one official pipeline artist on payroll. The rest of the pipeline artists had to pull double-duty as regular artists.

A good pipeline artist can save hundreds of man-hours and thousands of dollars over the course of a project. I sincerely hope the parent company invests in pipeline for its future.

    Pros

This place will give you new skills and create great work! You will be able to add great demo reel peaces to your personal reel.

    Cons

No internet. So getting reference is difficult and if you bring in a laptop wireless internet is super slow.

    Advice to Management

    Need updated computers.
