I worked at Plain Dealer Publishing full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Every day was different. Because it is a newspaper the product is new every day. Had to be ready for quick adjustments.

    Cons

It's a dying industry. What was once a family atmosphere has changed to a very impersonal company. So many people have left that the tight bonds are gone.

    Pros

    Provided great pay and benefits.

As the industry changed, the company and people went in a downward spiral. A good thing had to come to an end. The good old times will be truly missed.

Best of luck trying to figure out how to stay afloat.
