I have been working at Plains Midstream full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great pay, benefits and field level camaraderie.

    Cons

Top heavy, word hard and you will be punished, don’t expect to have your ideas taken seriously, blind leading the blind on new systems.

    Advice to Management

Use Q-Tips, be open to new ideas, leadership and message delivery training required, try to retain talent. Ross sucks.

I have been working at Plains Midstream full-time

    Pros

Most coworkers are great. Fair pay and benefits.

    Cons

Some people are toxic. Very reactionary environment. Lack of communication in the organization. All teams have a wealth of information but it is not shared efficiently.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with other managers/teams for dynamic information sharing to make processes efficient.

I have been working at Plains Midstream full-time

    Pros

Very pro active leadership team. with so many company's unable to make positive workplace changes, Plains is assessing the culture and making changes. Change is tough and so not everyone will have a positive outlook on it but change is necessary to move ahead. Good pay, benefits and lots of opportunity for those who want to work hard.

    Cons

A few chronic complainers in leader positions who likely have no other work experience and feel the company and the world in general, owe them a living. they are not willing to help change anything and want the world to stay the same...

    Advice to Management

Keep moving ahead and recognize the people who are supporting the efforts to make Plains a leader in the midstream business.

I worked at Plains Midstream full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The Pay and benefits are good, this was (past tense) a great place to work

    Cons

Managers are bullies. When a manager doesn’t like you, you get treated poorly. The managers have pets that can do no wrong. One guy can sleep at his desk, wearing slippers at work with no repercussions, and the next guy works his butt off and gets written up for wearing the wrong clothes to work. They even let one of the guys go knowing that he was going through cancer treatments. With no reason other than the manager...

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring old Spectra employees, they are doing the same to Plains that they did to Spectra.....buried it!!

I worked at Plains Midstream full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay and benefits as per the oil/gas industry

    Cons

No industry standards and process. If you are good in buttering to your lead/managers then you are safe. Which is very strange as skills does not matter.

    Advice to Management

Learn from industry and listen to employees. Be good leaders not managers.

    I worked at Plains Midstream

    Pros

Good pay, benefits. The people are amazing and safety and transparency of the company's vision is quite apparent. The social club is pretty nice too, although the employee pays half.

    Cons

The culture at Plains is quite poor and the work life balance is sub-par. Be ready to work a lot of overtime and not get paid for it. It's hard to have a family or hobbies when you work here. There have been a flock of employees leaving the company in the past year, which isn't a good sign in this economy.

I have been working at Plains Midstream full-time

    Pros

Pay and benefits are excellent even after cutbacks. There is a lot of good people working there, none of them happen to be in management though.

    Cons

Basically everything else. They outsourced their IT to India and the service turned out pretty much as you would expect.

    Advice to Management

Please resign and give this place a chance to survive instead of just hanging on for as many paycheques as possible while this ship slowly but surely sinks.
