Low pay they say because we are a nonprofit but the executive still seem compensated well. Dr. Wen was a great president for the company but she only lasted about a week because they didn’t agree with the direction she wanted to go.

Coworkers were awesome and it was nice being able to help the patients. Benefits are also pretty good, especially insurance.

The pay was laughable for the amount of work we were expected to do, sometimes doing the work equivalent for 2-3 people on a given day.

If you're a new MA, it's a great place to learn and practice new skills. You learn a lot, but it is very-fast paced so may not be for you if you need a lot of support. If you have a good team of providers and MA's you'll enjoy having good coworkers but that's about it. Get your experience and leave for a better opportunity elsewhere that will value you as a team member.

Onsite management is out of touch with the day to day things that staff deal with to run the clinic yet they are always adding to their plate; lack of appreciation for all the things medical assistant and staff do; micro-managing; can be a toxic environment and lack of accountability with management; lacks support and leadership; work-life balance is not good since schedules are always changing

Amazing coworkers who work very hard and become lifetime friends. You are really helping the community and it feels good to give back. You become very educated in the field and have a ton of responsibilities which helps prevent boredom. I learned a lot as far as medical assistant skills as I did blood draws, injections, lab work, as well as patient intake. The job allows for a lot of learning

The pay sucks. The company is a nonprofit so it makes sense but it does not compensate for the amount of work you're doing. Management can be a pain and very controlling at times.

The pay is too low In my department it was very hard to take time off and if you were sick but do not have a doctor's note, then that counts as an unexcused absence I don't like that they have separate PTO and sick time. I would prefer to just get PTO and use it for whatever purpose I want to use it for. I didn't really like my supervisor Our internet speed was slow a lot of the time which made it difficult to perform some work-related tasks We were only allowed to wear jeans one day a month whereas many other companies in the area have jeans Friday every Friday. I am nervous about the long-term future of the Rocky Mountains affiliate - the one where I used to work. Let's just say that these are some very uncertain economic times.

- I worked at a headquarters building, so there was the health center, administration, and call center. Sometimes here was not enough communication between the staff of these groups.

Pros

Employees care a lot about the job and the organization promotes self care more than any company I've worked for. They provide a very reasonable income to take care of myself with good benefits. I enjoy patient care and I'm consistently inspired by my coworkers that go above and beyond for patients. The people that work here really care and enjoy helping people. I was also trained well for my position.

Cons

There can be some disconnect between administration and people who work in the health center. This isn't above what would be expected for a large organization.
