    Cons

Fragmented global channel partner strategy, difficult to get promoted as no one ever leaves.

I worked at Plantronics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good work environment, great people, good standards.

    Cons

When bonuses are funded, or bad decisions are made, the older more experienced workers are the first to be downsized, as of late.

    Advice to Management

Consider your experience base to be more valued than you do.

I worked at Plantronics (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great location! Awesome people! Tons of things in the area for active people to do during lunch. Gym, locker room with showers, basketball court, volleyball court. I loved working there!!! I hated to leave.

    Cons

"They" say people don't leave Companies, they leave Managers - this was my case - and that's allI'll say about that.

    Advice to Management

Stay out of the Shipping/Receiving department.

I worked at Plantronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, excellent products, gorgeous interior decor, healthy mindset.

    Cons

There are some politics, a lot of people from Cisco being hired and changing the culture, making it less friendly.

    Advice to Management

Think deeply about the kind of environment you want to create for your employees. Hiring large company executives may change the culture toward a more political and demeaning atmosphere, which may demotivate your employees.

I worked at Plantronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent company culture that embraces openness and respect for all individuals. Phenomenal corporate campus and office facilities. Unlimited PTO, flexible work from home policy, and overall great sense of work-life balance. Surprisingly cool, interesting, and well-designed products. World-class summer internship program.

    Cons

Compensation levels aren't competitive with the market, making it hard to retain high-achievers in the technology industry. 55 year old company in transition from once being a headset manufacturer to a wearables, cloud software, and IoT company means lots of growing pains (antiquated processes, skills gaps, etc.) but things are heading in the right direction when I left.

    Advice to Management

Execute on new product growth initiatives quickly, grow revenue, compensate talented high achievers well so world class talent can be retained.

I worked at Plantronics (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Great flexibility with work and personal needs. Vacation policy is open and flexible (so stated, but not practiced). Neat product. Helpful people. Nice work environment. Internal clients top-notch people who are honest and appreciative of your work. They promote good health with a great cafe and gym. HR people involved with lots of helpful activities. IT very helpful. All-in-all, great people. CEO very approachable and open door.

    Cons

Vacation policy not practiced, but closely scrutinized. Management (Operations) not seasoned--Too much deceit, lack of honesty, manipulation. Everyone treated differently, some very poorly. Management speaks Spanish while in the US. Not appropriate (in my opinion). It's a corporation and has many of the downfalls of any large corporation. All-in-all though, I did enjoy working there.

    Advice to Management

Know the business and trust the people who have been in that area of business that they know what they're doing. Treat people equally. Don't talk behind people's back and don't enroll people to monitor other people's actions covertly. This decreases trust. Don't come and go as you please and expect other people to appreciate being scrutinized closely. Again, low trust level. Look at quality of employees, not quantity (getting more people for the same money, but quality decreased).

I have been working at Plantronics (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company culture is great, the facilities are very nice, the benefits are good, company is profitable and the products are very high quality.

    Cons

Career advancement is slow, promotions are limited, the commute from Silicon Valley is a longer than average ride and occasionally dangerous on the road over the hill.
