I have been working at Plastipak Holdings full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I have worked for Plastipak for almost 10 years. It's a good work environment and the management cares about their employees. When I started working here years ago I was coming from a really bad work environment. I appreciate the work environment here. Some of my friends have left for other jobs and wanted to come back because they realized they really didn't have it that bad after all.

    Cons

The pros far outweigh the cons.

I have been working at Plastipak Holdings full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great support. You can come in any day that you're off to train or to help out. Many days off if you want them

    Cons

Long, tough hours. You're on your feet all day running around. Some members of middle management are rude at time.

    Advice to Management

Understand that new employee's get overwhelmed at the extra hours you work during your first few weeks. This causes many new employee's to quit very early.

I worked at Plastipak Holdings full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours are great, 3 12's one week, and 4 12's the next, working every other Sunday for double time. Everyone there is super welcoming, and willing to teach new things and share knowledge. Worked in the QA lab for a few months, and would have stayed there for a long time had I not been offered a position that I was after at another company that was much more lucrative. The pay at Plastipak is still above average.

    Cons

The mens urinal is too close to the wall, and the toilet is too shallow. Seriously, this is not a joke.

    Advice to Management

Please fix the mens bathroom situation, and thanks for the Holiday Turkeys.

I have been working at Plastipak Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

High paying compared to other employers in area, most people you work with are pretty decent.

    Cons

Long hours, no time and a half, Manage recognizes hard workers but has no interest in advancing them to further positions. No scheduled breaks and often you get your breaks late in the day. Management takes advantage if you are a hard worker, and if you work hard there is no recognition. Co-Employees will pat you on the back, but shift change is difficult because most employees are young and have not learned work ethic(Or no desire to have one). Often you get production floor dirty even though you leave it clean to them.

    Advice to Management

Abandon Nepitisim, treat hard workers with respect, give people a chance to use the restroom every once in a while, stop taking advantage of hard work(PPK is Draconian), Make clear paths to advancement for those who deserve it, stop telling your work force that it is expendable. These practices are un-professional

I worked at Plastipak Holdings full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not one single good thing about this place.

    Cons

Where do I begin...... I could write an article. It's a horror show. A complete mess. Anxiety, stress, misery, depression, overworked, screamed at, shamed, attacked, dirty, filthy, sweaty, uncomfortable, corrupted, shady. You're blood will be sucked out of you and when you have nothing left to give you'll get fired. It's a revolving door. Everything's the employees fault. No one knows what they're doing, especially management. They're always Hiring because they're always Firing. You've been warned.

    Advice to Management

The place just needs a complete restructuring from top to bottom. An overhaul.

    Pros

Coworkers on the line are nice. Can't think of anything else

    Cons

They management doesn't have a clue, they play favorites and can't go to HR . They play favorites too anytime you bring up quality issue to Quality department you feel like you are going to get in trouble and then you can't make any quality mistakes or you get written up. Terrible place to work . Always have to watch your back.

    Advice to Management

Need to do something to make people feel they can trust managers, including quality and hr. It's a circus
