    Pros

Great work-life balance. Company knows how to work hard and play hard. You really get to see the progress of the product and how much customer love it.

    Cons

Too much rethinking of HR policies...

I have been working at Platfora full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-You get to work on a lot of projects that help you to broaden your skill set.
    - Free food, which is great!!!!
    - Hard working group of people and the engineering team is always willing to pitch in and help.

    Cons

    - Terrible culture. There are racist comments and age discrimination by senior staff. Product, Marketing and Sales team (especially VP level) are stuck up and tend to bully staff, play political games and play favorites. They are always finding ways to get the ex-CEO to fire employees that they have not worked with at their previous companies (Yammer, IronPort,WibiData).
    - All the early hires have left the company and senior staff does not seem to care about that.
    -

    Advice to Management

Hire leaders that are not only competent but also motivate team members vs bullying them. Get your act together and learn to respect the hard work that your team puts in. Materialistic ways of thanking employees is of no use if you can't give respect them.

I have been working at Platfora (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I really enjoy working with really smart people that are pushing the status quo away from traditional analytics. Everyone enjoys having fun at work, building great product, and collaborating with one another.

Product continues to improve greatly with each quarterly release cycle. Fun, fast-paced journey!

If you are a self-starter that is willing to roll-up your sleeves and work hard, you'll excel here.

    Cons

Company has undergone a lot of change recently. Though the change has all been positive in my opinion and we are up-leveling sales and the field, it is important to be transparent that not all attrition is regretted so that people further removed don't feel that this change is negative.

    Advice to Management

Continue to function as a meritocracy, where the best and the brightest succeed. It's okay to watch the ones that aren't willing to give it 110% go. Furthermore, welcome it!

I have been working at Platfora full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Product is ahead of the industry. Feel proud to have watched it grow and stay ahead.
    Many sharp, experienced, passionate people.
Good change to leadership 6 months ago to accommodate new market phase.
(Note: Ben Werther is no longer CEO--as of mid-2015, Jason Zintak is. Both are good leaders).
Great sales numbers, funding, & growth. Ended 2015 with $30M in new funding and great sales.
Great culture, transparency, & learning experience. Most people are helpful, honest, and fun.

    Cons

Like any startup, it can be chaotic. Getting better, but sometimes at the expense of flexibility.
Goes through phases of long hours & hard work.
Not the place to be if you don't contribute or add value. Could be a pro or a con for some people.

    Advice to Management

Overall, great place to work. A few tweaks:
Hold leadership accountable for defining success.
Continue to hold individuals accountable for delivering.
As we grow, stay lean by not compromising on who to hire and qualifying customers. Continue to learn from the past few years.

    I worked at Platfora full-time

    Pros

There are no pros at Platfora!

    Cons

Since new CEO Jason Zintak was brought in things at Platfora has tanked, all the good talent has been chased off, not a good place to be! In addition, VC will not touch the stock which is basically worthless at this point so there is no equity play at all!

    Advice to Management

    Sell to IBM.

I have been working at Platfora full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

+ Platfora has some of the sharpest and nicest people to work with on any team; in some companies, you will only get one or the other.
+ The company is still small enough in size to maintain transparency with all its employees, so both good and bad news is shared without hesitation.
+ The management really cares about its employees and treats them well. There is a constant open dialogue between employees and management about the wellness and happiness of the employees.

    Cons

    - There seems to be an increasing complacency when it comes to watching the ankle-biters in the space; as a result the product's features and functionality seems to be no longer define the modern BI analytics platform.
    - Location is in San Mateo. You get stuck in traffic whichever way you commute.

    Advice to Management

    * Being nice to employees is great, but deal a bit more strongly with team members who have clearly dropped the ball.

    * Make the workplace more respectful for women; it is easy to walk around or even sit in meetings where managers swear a lot, make racist or even homophobic jokes that are very off color for a professional working environment. Feels like a old-boys frat club on some days.

    Pros

Best company I have worked for. High hiring standards and rigorous interview process leads to high quality candidates and employees. Employees are very helpful and open. The office is great, fully stocked kitchen and snacks as well as lunches most days and dinner occasionally.

    Cons

Vacation time is very low compared to other bay area companies. Office is not in an ideal location.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving ahead and doing what your doing, the only lacking area seems to be PTO.
