I worked at Play-Well TEKnologies part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours when in school and good pay for a part time position. It was really fun to work with the students and I enjoyed the amount of freedom there was to create.

    Cons

Sometimes camps or classes would get cancelled and if you are depending on this position for the hours that can be a big problem. Also if you arent feeling well enough to teach there felt like a lot of pressure to be available anyway at least during the busy summers.

    Advice to Management

Have a backup plan for sub coverage if someone cant teach and give as much notice as possible for potential cancelled programs.

I worked at Play-Well TEKnologies part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Make a good amount of money in the summer working 8 hour camps! Work is usually pretty fun (except when people put 5 year olds in camp, they're tough to teach engineering concepts to and usually super tired and cranky --- this only applies during school year. Summer is fine cause they come in the morning.)

    Cons

Money is ROUGH during the year with only 3.5 hour work days (rounded to 4 by the time sheet) with other time being drive time (often not substantial enough to matter.)

Sometimes you don't get a full week of classes so if you really wanna make it work you need to get in on birthday parties and weekend work for extra money and tips. Unfortunately that was not doable often by me. :/

    Advice to Management

Perhaps change pay during the school year to compensate for less time? Or offer a salary. Obviously that's a lot to ask, but it's hard to make ends meet if this is your only gig during the years
