I worked at Pleasant Holidays full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - familiarization trips to destinations sold
    - good coworkers
    - vendor companies come in to the office on occasion with food
    - in depth travel training provided, provides great entry level support
    - consistently working with people from different cultural backgrounds

    Cons

    - work from home is not always an option
    - wages are only a little more than minimum wage

    Advice to Management

    - give pay raises to those who achieve collegiate education and/or industry knowledge through vendor training
    - provide more support to the employee because life happens

    Pros

I became extremely knowledgeable about booking vacations. Most of the people i worked with were very nice. Received a healthy commission check about 3 times per year.

    Cons

STRESS! Mandatory overtime with out gratitude!! Some supervisors aren't worth a shoot! Poor Technology for all that is required to do and not a soul that has the smarts to fix it! everyone it overworked and under payed!!!

    Advice to Management

Pay your associates more and add an extra shift so there is not overtime for those who have a hard time with it. Listen better!!!! Don't just run your mouth and think you know everything, because you don't!

I worked at Pleasant Holidays full-time

    Pros

Employees are great to work with.

    Cons

Micro managed to the max! You have to ask to go to the bathroom and if your gone for too long, your docked and yelled at in front of everyone.

    Advice to Management

Take a chill pill and know we're all here for the same reason, you are no better than us.

I have been working at Pleasant Holidays full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good work/life balance
    Great perks
    Interesting work

    Cons

Not much room for career advancement, pay is very low in comparison to the same job in other companies.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a salary in line with other companies and industries. It's hard to keep morale up when everyone knows they could be much better paid elsewhere.

I worked at Pleasant Holidays full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Decent travel benefits, agreeable co-workers

    Cons

Low opportunity for advancement. Management lacks the vision to recognize, challenge , support or promote talented staff, so they leave. It's easy to move to different departments and learn new departments but these are not promotions, they are lateral moves ( no raise)
Pay is low compared to other industries and within the travel industry.
