    Advice to Management

Go to business school. Treat your department like a business a think on how to bring in more revenue to improve current programs and expand on others. Actually fire people when they under perform and don't hire everyone who applies. Treat your top 20% well. Fire bottom 10%

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Pleasanton, CA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Supportive environment, necessary resources available if deemed a worthy project, family oriented, totally beats commuting to south bay or silicon valley.

    Cons

Can be a bit micro-managed on an individual level, what should be clear mandates set limits that apply to all citizen is often bent when "the squeaky wheel" tactic is employed, then weaker-willed management will kowtow to a complainer.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Every organization has the occasional bad apple, at all levels. Just try to be more consistent in the face of political pressure from unreasonable citizens and leaders with their own agendas.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Pleasanton, CA part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was an easy job. Everyone is laidback, there is plenty of hours for people to work if youre part time. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for some extra cash.

    Cons

It's hard to get a full time job with them and the part time pay isnt great. You have to work weekends and nights.
