I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for less than a year

    Pros

*great training for servers, bartenders and host staff *500 bonus if you stay 6 months *800 quarterly meal allowance

    Cons

◇15 hour shifts for managers ◇no lunch breaks--ever, but smokers take about 5cigarette breaks...and if you don't already smoke this place will make you start #stressville ◇ very little training for managers ◇ poor health standards, once during training I witnessed my trainer, a manager of puckers, pull a box of food out of a trash can and give it to a guest. Yes, the guest left their to-go box on the table when... they left, the busboy threw the box in the trash, the guest returned for the box and the manager dug it out of the trash can and GAVE IT BACK TO THE GUEST!!! #GROSS ♤♤♤even worse, I reported this to my boss' boss and they did next to nothing. He still works there....#yuck #healthCode ◇a million customer complaints bc wait staff is overworked The kitchen staff is also very overworked and constantly sends out wrong orders. There's a $500 bonus for a reason, 6 months of hell to get it!

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good salary, good follow up on emails,

    Cons

Hiring process was so over the top. It took a month and 3 different manager interviews to hire which is ironic because all of my coworkers are next to useless (show up drunk, kiss all over each other, can't speak english....). People call out often especially last minute and there is no one to cover and the managers will not show up to help at all. GM doesn't even close at all! Insane! They said I would have my own... store in 6 months and here it is going on 8 months later and I still haven't even had proper training from my GM for any other shifts besides Kitchen shifts because he won't hire a kitchen manager so I'm stuck. I wasn't hired to stay in the kitchen! Additionally, GMs don't seem to be held accountable and can pretty much do whatever they want. I spend more time working here than I do with my family. I come home at 5 in the morning because they won't keep additional cooks to help close and I'm on my own past 1. Utter ridiculousness.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job hiring people who aren't drug addicts or drunks and keep our restaurants staffed so that those who are there don't have to work 70-80 hours. You should really keep an eye on your GMs and make sure that they are not only working sufficient amount of hours but closing AT LEAST 2x a week and that THEY are the ones who cover when no one else can instead of leaving people to drown. All managers MUST get... their 2 days off even if they get called in to work someone else's shift. Closing and swing should require at least 2 people in the kitchen.

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Training is excellent for managers. You gain a great understanding for the restaurant industry. If you want to work for this company, work in the Austin area. Reasonable with vacation requests. If you work hard, its easy to move up. They are expanding which creates opportunity. Health code and sanitation is impeccable Very knowledgeable GMs and AGMs, great at mentoring and helping you succeed.

    Cons

Long hours and late nights (which is clearly stated in the interviewing process), sometimes you will stay until 4am, sometimes longer. Not family oriented. This is not the place to work for if you want to start a family, or have young children. High employee and management turnover. Low initial pay, bonus plan is good if you get into a AGM or GM role. Constant negative feedback. Employees are... required to do a large amount of side work which creates long work days and low moral. Extremely rule oriented company, which is good for structure but does create a stressful environment. The interviewing process is incredibly long which makes the staffing your restaurant a painful process.

    Advice to Management

I don't regret my time with this company, and its definitely going through some growing pains. Quality of life needs a better focus to retain employees.
