I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free meals A lot of hours Restaurant experience. Free pizza/food ordered every now and then.

    Cons

Bad Scheduling. Takes advantage of kindness. Allowed sexual harassment. Strict policies. You can't get sick ever, better come into work and infect other people instead of staying home! Does not provide raises for other stations learned as was stated. Only as a trainer or management. Short staffed/overworked. Long hours.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what people are telling you! Don't let sexual harassment happen in the work place!!!! Please don't lie about advancement opportunities. There is no point in advancing in the kitchen!

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar part-time

    Pros

free meals that are cold after your shift

    Cons

worked here for 7 months. worked the heaviest days (weekends). They start you off with a nice set of hours 45-50 and believe me if your not use to it your gonna be sore at the end of each night. Besides that if its slow be lucky to work 15 hours a week. They complain that they all want to leave early but then take their time cleaning at the end of night. They require a 2 weeks notice for days off but will change... you schedule at any given moment. IF something comes up and your car breaks down they dont tell you if they find someone to cover your shift but get mad when you dont show up. The place is nasty and smells like rotting chicken that you can smell all the way to the entrance door. Expect to smell like a walking trash can at the end of the night. You get blamed for everything under the sun as if your the only person working there. got my car broken into multiple times ( i dont keep anything in it and they people who broke it just seemed like they wanted to break stuff my car wasn't the only one). People quit left and right because it just ridiculous how they run things. They will also write you up for stupid reasons like getting out late 3:00am when the place closes around 12am. worse job ever if only the customers knew what they were paying for YUK!

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Free meal, opportunity for advancement

    Cons

Long hours; sometimes arriving at 5pm and leaving at 4 or 5 am. There is a possibility of getting burned by the high-temperature oil. Hardly any breaks.

    Advice to Management

It's best when you work as a team and visible show to your staff how the team is disorganized.

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free meals when you work doubles, which is like once a week at least. Every $33 in alcohol sales, $1 go to the bar in tip out.

    Cons

Typical service industry job, minus the good clientele. You get college students who can't even tip 10% and minorities *ahem* who like chicken, drink only water and don't tip at all. I don't understand why they come out to eat at a restaurant and not tip but demand excellent service. Pathetic excuse. "Trainers" by the book and expect you to be. Only a 3 table rotation (good luck when you have someone stay in your... section for 3 hours for their game) If you're a dinner shift, you'll get home by 3am-4:30am. No discount at any of their establishments. You can't sign up for health insurance until a year of full time employment. If UT football wins a home game, they reward "5 free wings" at their game. So if it was a home game, you have all these cheap people trying to claim their wings that same day and then thus "back up the kitchen" then you get hangry customers who are complaining about a 45-60 minute wait on their meal. Can't help it. It just ALWAYS happens. Then they take it out on the server and leave you a couple of dollars on a 60-90 tab, or even threaten to leave on the tab. Employee shirts are $35 each. No discount. Once you work at pluckers, you're never allowed to drink more than 2 "legal" serving drinks. The 34oz beer counts as 1. If you're caught, fired. Even on your day off.

    Advice to Management

None. They do an excellent job running things. The server tests are a little bit much but what do you expect. It's a service job. If you don't know the food, you shouldn't work there but the grading policy is really strict. If you get one ingredient wrong, it's wrong in general.

I have been working at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of hours, good pay for industry. Free meals every shift.

    Cons

Open late, Don't leave till 5 a.m. in the morning some weekends. schedule isn't always great. Sometimes you work till one a.m. and your scheduled seven hours later at 8 a.m. the following day.

    Advice to Management

Most of my managers were great. There is always exceptions to which I would say don't sit in the office and help pick up the workload.

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay is great, you receive thorough and comprehensive training, and you receive free meals whenever you work. Management was knowledgeable. Challenging environment.

    Cons

Scheduling was a huge issue. You never knew when your shift would end until you arrived, and shifts could be anywhere from five to eleven hours long. They did not honor schedule requests that were put in months in advance. Many senior employees were unfriendly toward newer employees, which led to a decrease in job satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees and split up shifts. An employee should know well in advance if he's going to be at the restaurant until 4 in the morning.

I have been working at Pluckers Wing Bar

    Pros

Very flexable hours if you communicate ahead of time with management. Its a fast pased environment with people to joke and have fun while working, and a free meal with every shift is always good.

    Cons

Constant policy change with no warning, the changes are slow to come down to employees and not everyone is updated which leaves multiple ways of doing things floating around and causes cinfusion. Some people take there power too far and it can become a stresful place to work if your not friends with upper management.

    Advice to Management

Communicate clearly and effectively OFTEN with employees. There is nothing worse than multiple things floating around in a very fast pased environment. Confusin can destroy a resturant in a rush.
