I have been working at Pluckers Wing Bar part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very Organized and structured. High volume and get alot of tips. Easy menu.

    Cons

Too many written tests. Takes forever to get trained. Overly corporate structure makes it hard for any concerns to be tended to,

    Advice to Management

Let managers (per store basis) make decisions on what works best for their store instead of trying to create an umbrella system.

I have been working at Pluckers Wing Bar for more than a year

    Pros

Good atmosphere and easy to excel into management. Management is super helpful with working around schedules.

    Cons

You're working with kids who just want to get cash but not pull a lot of weight. If you are going to be a server, there will be tests you will have to get 100 on. They'll only tell you there is one at the interview and that you only have to get a 70.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring teens. Their are plenty of adults who need to take their positions and will work harder.

"The hours are long, menu tests excessive"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Food Server

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar part-time

    Pros

The money is pretty good if looking to make serving your full-time gig. Coworkers are cool, and the environment is upbeat.

    Cons

The hours are long, the company should really look at staggering in and cut times to alleviate the extremely long and busy hour's folks have to work. I do not recommend using this job as a supplemental income, unless you live off of Red Bull. Expect to get there at 5 pm and leave around 2 or 3 am. The hiring and menu tests are extremely excessive - it's beer and chicken. There are 4 tests so expect to... memorize nearly 300 in-depth questions and answers.

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Discounted food Fun work environment flexible scheduling you will forever smell like wings most of the customers are nice

    Cons

Management was sexist, on the menu tests if girls were to get about a 60 or up they would let them pass it but if a guy got a 69 they would still fail him, I passes my menu test but it was sad to see how they were mistreating others. Also, the management is biased with who gets tables, people who are management's favorites will get several tables while people who aren't as well liked will get 1 or 2 tables.

    Advice to Management

The menu test isn't that important chill-out Also, learn some respect

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar

    Pros

Always busy so you make great money. Room for advancement. Nice atmosphere especially if you are a sports fan! Nice.

    Cons

Sometimes too busy to keep up with side work. Tests were annoying. Lots of turnover but I guess that is pretty normal for the industry.

    Advice to Management

    More table touches.

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar

    Pros

Fast Money, but remember, all serving Jobs have that pro

    Cons

They make you take these tests until you receive a 100%, you're not even making tips until you can pass all of them. They have you do follow shifts where you do all the work but you don't get the tips. These exams are absolutely ridiculous. Most of the employees will even tell you they cheated. After I left, I got a job at Cheesecake Factory, which is knows for their large menu AND I BANK. Don't let them tell you... they do these exams so you know your menu and you seem more professional, its really just to keep their high turnover rate.

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar

    Pros

Food Discounts, Friendly Staff(after you been there a while), Nice Pay,

    Cons

Long Hours, Only get a break if double or closing, Childish Managers, Overwork the hardworkers, too strict with rules, too many LONG tests at beginning of job which I have seen turn MANY people away. If you dont pass the test, you dont get the job. most people leave in the first couple of weeks or have been there forever, there is no inbetween.

    Advice to Management

Calm down about getting onto the little things that empolyees do wrong and look at the big picture, if you complain to every person about every little thing it eventually turns them away and will leave from micromanaging.

I have been working at Pluckers Wing Bar

    Pros

-discounted food -flexible scheduling -tries to satisfy guest -can make a lot of money sometimes -uniform involves jeans and not slacks

    Cons

-late hours on weekends. It says close at 2, but you won't be home till 4am. -When you're scheduled a double shift that consists of 14 hours, you only get a 20 minute break. -the training is horrendously long. You have to take 5 different tests and make 100 on all of them. If you can't than you're fired. -You also have to train for 5 days, all of which you do all the things a server is doing while being shadowed... by a trainer, and the trainer takes all your tips while you're doing all the work. -you can't have negative opinions about the job, it's not allowed for it to be spoken about. -they give trainers too much power. -they have weird restrictions that they consider "health codes" when no other restaurants have those codes.

    Advice to Management

Stop making things that could be easier hard. The 5 tests are unnecessary along with the 5 days of being shadowed is unnecessary, and if you feel that the shadowing is required let the trainee have the tip they worked for. The trainer is already getting paid extra for training someone else, it seems unfair. Let people have their own opinions and quit enforcing that "pluckers is life." Not everyone's going to love... the job, and if they don't it's not fair to say "then work somewhere else if you don't love it here." Stop trying to control absolutely everything because it makes it harder to work there when you have to constantly get a manager for something mundane such as a enforcing the "military discount" or "teachers discount." it would save a lot more time to let the servers have that freedom to do it manually on their own. Stop giving trainers so much power. They might have worked there for awhile, but they're also just young adults and usually take advantage of their power. So it seems easier to let them be trained by other works and drop the "trainers" title overall.

I worked at Pluckers Wing Bar full-time for less than a year

    Pros

you get to eat their food, which is over priced but good. you get to deal with new customers every day. the dress code is pretty laid back

    Cons

they work you like a slave. make you stay at work even when there is no work to be done. working 8 hour shifts for $20. management is insulting. the amount of tests you have to take surpass any college course.

    Advice to Management

get new management. the management was under educated and hostile and foul from the day I started. getting a job at a corporate company was easier than pluckers.
