This was a job where I learned and did so much. There was never a moment when I was bored. A lot of room for growth if you work for it. Great people also.

    Cons

    Poor leadership in the beginning

    Advice to Management

Get more key players to keep growing

    Pros

Freedom to work in the way that works for you. Remote work environment. Great sales team.

    Cons

Due to the nature of a start-up, the environment at Plum District was constantly changing. The products that were sold, the expectations even the commission rates changed on pretty much a monthly basis.

    Advice to Management

Being more connected from top down would help to make life not so uncertain for everyone working "boots on the ground".

I worked at Plum District as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Autonomy, great team atmosphere with other District Consultant's, had an excellent direct boss, liked the concept of the company.

    Cons

Growing pains, constantly switching directions of focus for the district consultants, technical support not easily available many times, lots of turnover.

I have been working at Plum District full-time

    Pros

As a sales rep, you gain experience in all aspects of the sales cycle and territory management:
    - prospecting
    - cold calling
    - business & market plan development
    - territory development
    - marketing events
    - working with business owners to craft a daily deal that works for their ROI
    - telecommuting
    - CRM
It was exciting to be part of something new and growing.

    Cons

It felt more like an internship than a real position as a full-time sales rep. There was little to no support for sales reps, and constant changing of the company mission. It was difficult to adhere to corporate strategies, as they were ever-changing. There was also minimal training, so unless you are a self-starter and motivator, you have no chance of succeeding or making money.
