I have been working at Poclain Hydraulics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, mostly nice people, constantly trying to improve as an employer, relatively diverse and multicultural teams, opportunities to travel abroad

    Cons

Sometimes the number of meetings can become too much. It would probably be good to spend more time working directly with their teams and less time talking about it.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your team first and the results will speak for themselves. Nice job improving employee involvement

I have been working at Poclain Hydraulics full-time

    Pros

Outstanding benefits, concern and focus on the employee, training and development, global/international exposure, new management team with strong leadership experience.

    Cons

Corporate leaders in France can be a challenge to work with. Cultures can clash

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in the US. Recognize that expectations of American businesses and employees are different than European and allow for and support empowerment of local team.

I have been working at Poclain Hydraulics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Vacation time. Paid time off, Benfits are good, 2 week christmas shutdown but only 5 days are paid. co workers are good people well most of them.

    Cons

No advancement within no matter what they tell you during interviews. Hard to move up. Certification program they have is a joke. If your not a kiss butt or tattle tale or suck up good luck on being recognizedd for your hard work or being able to learn alot. Shop is based on favoritism, upper management is a joke and doesnt care how employees feel on certain issues. you work every other saturday for straight time and not over time. a huge majority of shop floor employees are looking to get out. Upper management lies constantly to you and then lies to you again to try and cover themselves. Only way to move up or advance is if you have expierence and a 4 year degree in what you want to move into. Work you like a dog and you get no reward or recognition. Alot of saftey issues that only get taken care of if someone is extremely hurt people are always out having to have shoulder surgeries back problems or broken bones. Workers morale is very low and shop floor people dont care about this place. Do back door operations on their products that customers dont know about.

    Advice to Management

Dont lie to employees, practice what is being told for us to do. Get rid of the crappy work schedule, stop playing favorites to the kiss butts, suck ups. Re structure this whole place starting with upper managment. No body is happy and about 75% of your workforce wants to leave and is looking for new employement.

    Pros

Great benefits and great experience in an international company. The CEO, CFO and other high level management were very friendly and personable on visits to WI.

    Cons

Not much chance for upward mobility

    Advice to Management

Sick leave would be a great benefit to have

    Pros

The people and travel were great.

    Cons

Sometimes the recurring conflict between departments was difficult

    Advice to Management

The rules for personnel with the same job title and experience should be the same regardless of location.

I worked at Poclain Hydraulics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fairly good benefits (Health Care).
Decent Bonus Plan (if you get it).
The people you work with are top notch.

    Cons

Toxic environment, where everyone is looking to get out. Very oppressive feel to the place. The hours expected to work are minimum 50-55 hours a week or you will be looked down upon, so forget about work life balance. The management will micromange-- they will review every email, power point, work instruction. All 8 levels of managers stretching to France. The plant is a fairly dangerous place to work as well....for truck traffic, unlabeled chemicals, people on boom lifts with loose tools.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck!

I worked at Poclain Hydraulics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Solid Vacation offering
-Plenty of training and travel opportunities
-Learn all about job functions outside of your immediate scope

    Cons

-Immediate scope can and will be expanded past anything that resembles a reasonable workload
-Lots of firefighting, leading to temporary/incomplete solutions, which causes more problems down the road
-Individuals are great, but the overall structure is copy and paste out of a bad high school movie. (Lots of cliques, quite a few overly aggressive tendencies for some individuals).

    Advice to Management

Management just went through a large shuffle, and seems to be putting in better supports. There MUST be improvements to production, quality and maintenance staff, or things will continue to fall apart.

    Pros

Payed Christmas Shutdown & good benefits. Co-Workers were good people for the most part.

    Cons

Oily! Horrible Management that bite off more than they can chew and force the workers to "get it done". No appreciation for hard work, and No empathy towards the personal matters off their employees... Over-worked and underpaid. Hands down the worst company I have ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your employees are saying and show a little appreciation for their hard work... Also if you are going to force people to work 60hrs a week the least you could do is show up on a Saturday every once in a while...
