I have been working at Point B full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility, professional growth and development, intelligent and interesting co-workers, incredible culture, varied types of work that take your preferences into account.

    Cons

I don't get to work as closely with my point b peers as I'd like to. I can learn so much from them! Fortunately, point b is making an effort to staff us as a team so we can continue to learn from each other while providing clients with exceptional value.

I have been working at Point B full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I've been with the firm for almost 4 years and it is a great fit. What I appreciate most is:
    * Trust in leadership and openness
    * Focus on hiring the right people who will fit well with culture
    * Emphasis on doing what's right for our clients; bringing your A game to work both inside Point B and with clients
    * Balance of work and life -- there is a focus on both
    * Colleagues who are supportive and willing to share expertise

    Cons

    * Not a big firm, so doesn't have all the bells and whistles that larger consulting firms have

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! Keep innovating and growing in new ways that support our mission and vision.

I worked at Point B full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Point B is super dialed in and committed to their employees. Awesome benefits and it is great to work there. Super friendly people and great to work with everyone there.

    Cons

One and only con is the what the company specializes in. What I mean by that is most people do not see the company and understand what it is they do right away from their website, social media, advertising, etc.

I have been working at Point B full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - The people here are smart but super down to earth and not annoyingly competitive. There really is a spirit of everyone getting along, respecting one another and trying to be a team player
    - The company recently improved their PTO program. You can take up to 4 weeks off at a time and as long as your client is ok with it, you can totally manage your own time off and not restricted to any certain number of days a year.
    - On the flip side, you get paid for every hour you work so not capped off when on projects where you are working a bit more.
    - The company is employee owned and so you receive annual shares that is part of your retirement (they say this is higher $ than 401k sharing) so it's a nice perk.
    - The company is trying to create new opportunities for people by starting new businesses and opening new office locations .
    - Everyone is genuinely nice, funny, and thoughtful!

    Cons

    - The company talks a lot about being entrepreneurial but seems like it's more of an internal thing
    - The company is not that focused on titles and not a clear map of career paths once you've been here for more than five years. On the flip side, it's not up or out.
    - The annual bonus is not a guaranteed thing. It changes every year and can be totally unpredictable unless you're talking to your manager about it a lot.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the communications on what we're trying to do and how we're doing it.
Keep it real and keep it fun.
Try to find ways to know what every associate is up to. Sometimes it can feel like no one knows how you're doing.

I have been working at Point B full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Not your traditional consulting model (firm truly makes an effort to be different)
    - Bright people with deep consulting experience (largely from the big x firms)
    - Leadership is engaged and responsive
    - Autonomy to build out areas/specializations within the firm's service offerings
    - Plus Pay Model (get paid for those long hours)
    - ESOP
    - Firm getaways
    - Focus on employee needs professionally and personally
    - Option to avoid travel (note: there is a trade-off on project/client selection)

    Cons

    - Smaller firm, so there isn't the same recognition with clients as with larger firms
    - Project selection due to smaller client base (though is growing rapidly)
    - Limited travel can create a silo-ed effect between the offices

    Advice to Management

I truly enjoy working here. My only advice to management is to find a way to protect the firm's differentiated identity / core values in tact as we grow. We may aim for big growth, but I'd be disappointed to see us turn in to just another consulting firm to achieve that growth.

    Pros

Lots of variety in what you can do. Very prestigious clients and a strong reputation.

    Cons

No formal training program, so mostly hire experienced consultants.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! I'm excited to see us opening offices in more cities around the country.

I have been working at Point B full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Truly a company that exists for the benefits of it's people. A simple formula: enable people to do their best for clients and customers, and the market rewards the company with success that enables Point Bers to grow their careers.

    Cons

Point B grows more slowly than some flash in the pan firms, deep roots are more important that market share on for the sake of the numbers.

    Advice to Management

Keep nurturing people's best, keep focused on culture and excellence and success will naturally follow.

    Pros

Amazing culture combined with industry leading clients makes for a great work environment. Opportunity to make multiple career paths with support from leadership.

    Cons

No 401k plan although positive is that there is a ESOP plan where you are granted shares on an annual basis. Biggest con is there is no PTO and no paid holidays.
