Independent Work Enviroment
Feb 28, 2023 - Account Executive in Racine, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Essentially, you're running your own business. Employees don't compete against each other. You eat what you kill.
Cons
Commission only position has his pros and cons.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Focus, drive, determination and listening skills are a MUST
Apr 12, 2021 - RecruiterRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Ability to stretch yourself professionally, collaborative co-workers, work hard/play hard
Cons
Turnover - this career is not for someone that doesn't take direction well or wants to do it "their way". If you have a professional and personal drive to do well, listen, learn from those that have been in recruiting for years and have had success, are OK with the highs and lows of sales, then this is a great opportunity.

If you put in the work and have a passion for what you do it is impossible to hate this job. I have been working at PointOne for little over a year. I went from working two restaurant jobs barely making minimum wage to having the opportunity to make a crazy amount of money. So far I have billed over 200,000 and made 14 placements in the 13 months I have been here. PROS: -Really cool office with a giant fish-tank, constantly upgraded equipment, freedom to decorate office space, and relaxed dress code. - GREAT work life balance -Management REALLY cares about employees -Excellent benefits -Ability to help our community in so many ways. The number of charity events we do is more than any other job I've worked. -It is a family-like environment and everyone cares about each other, -Ability to make six figures with no previous experience and no schooling. (I did terrible in school and now I'm making more than most of my teachers.) -We get every tool possible to make sure we can do this job -EXCELLENT training program -Free coffee -Company 401K match
Cons
-This is not a job for a person that isn't willing to put in the work. -This is not a job for someone that wants complacency. This is a job for someone that wants to make a difference in people's lives and wants new challenges every day -You will only make 6 figures if you EARN 6 figures. -Some days you will have so much fun that you won't think that you are working and earning that huge commission check (is that a con?) In conclusion, if you're hesitant about applying here. Don't be. Apply, interview, and decide for yourself. We're hiring.

FINALLY AN OWNER AND COMPANY THAT TELLS THE TRUTH!
Apr 10, 2014 - Account Executive/Executive Recruiter in Racine, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Having worked at two other recruiting/placement firms (one temporary and the other permanent), I have hit the jackpot. The owner is a caring, truthful, dynamic, and strong leader who tells it like it really is. Never one to sugarcoat the tough job it takes to succeed, PointOne Recruiting is clearly not for everyone, but definitely the right choice for many. Excellent energy in the office. No micro-management. A results-driven atmosphere allows rookies to learn the business fast and the veterans to give back to the industry. Owner gives back more than anyone I've known. He also generates excitement, fun and healthy competition. It's funny that those who fail are typically non-competitive or see competition as some ugly concept. PointOne is the Gold Standard of Recruiting Firms. If you want to make 50K and punch the clock, go work for Manpower or some other environment that accepts mediocrity. This is a place for winners. If you're fortunate enough to get hired, you're surrounded (arguably) by some of the greatest recruiters that work in the nation.
Cons
Some hires that have sold ownership on how "great they are" end up dragging the team down with their wimpy work ethic., until they are ultimately fired for the slacker they always were all along. The owner tells the truth, why can't new hires???

Been here 10+ yrs, make $150K + a yr., help people for a living, my integrity is rewarded and I have work-life balance!
Apr 2, 2014 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have been with PointOne for over 10 years, have made as much as 230K , have averaged 150K annually , my commitment to business ethics and integrity is encouraged and rewarded, I have work-life balance, and have always been treated fairly by the current and previous owner, and consider both close friends!
Cons
This is an entrepreneurial, tough business, that can be very rewarding if you are willing to work real hard, are real persistent, and are self-motivated, self-managed, and self-directed. There are no short cuts. This is a 50+ hour a week , extremely fast paced job! This job is not a fit for everyone, and that is OK! You must be tenacious, competitive, diligent, have integrity, intellectual dexterity, be money motivated, have emotional and physical stamina...and failure can't be an option!

Not terrible, Not Great
Aug 16, 2019 - Account Executive in Racine, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I enjoyed my time at Point One for the most part, it was a very good entry level job to learn what it takes to be a recruiter. They absolutely prepare you to be above and beyond. Majority of the team is very nice Scott is a really cool dude in all honesty and if you get on his good side he will go above and beyond for you, that is rare in today's age.
Cons
Point One is a very old culture that does not keep up with the times. Keeping employees on the draw is an out dated philosophy that is designed to get new people in the hole and not making any commissions for the foreseeable future. They do not have any flexibility, absolutely none. They make you feel like you are not doing anything if you do not make 60+ calls and 3+ hours of phone time a day.
