    Pros

    Good incentive opportunities and benefits.

    Cons

Wrong people in decision making posistions.

    Advice to Management

The company used to be all about member service, now it's all sales sales sales. They give lip service to member service, but all management really cares about is sales.

I worked at Police and Fire Federal Credit Union full-time

      Pros

Decent starting compensation and room for growth.

      Cons

They veered toward the commercial agenda, creating a stressful work environment based on meeting sales goals for loan products rather than focusing on building, maintaining, and retaining client relationships.

I worked at Police and Fire Federal Credit Union full-time

      Pros

Was a great company when I started working there years ago. GREAT benefits, incentive program is better than most credit unions, pay rate is slightly less than other credit unions in area

      Cons

Recently hired managers from Santander and that was their downfall, very sales oriented now (like a bank), member service is now neglected, impossible to take days off (better off calling out), rather hire from the outside instead of interally like before, salary is impossible to make a living off on, cliquey

      Advice to Management

Take care of your employees (there is a reason why the turn around rate is so large in the call center)

I have been working at Police and Fire Federal Credit Union part-time

      Pros

Great incentives, money machines count and disburse money, great member service.

      Cons

No health benefits for part time, lots of cliques, often no breaks for part time, other coworkers are for themselves and not as a team. Late hours and are often there at least 15-30 mins past close depending on the manager.

      Advice to Management

Offer health benefits to part timers

      Positive Outlook

I have been working at Police and Fire Federal Credit Union full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Highest starting wages and best training in the region and the best incentive plan I've earned anywhere.

      Cons

Continue to focus on getting all departments and branches working together by improving communication and processes.

      Advice to Management

Continue to value the front line because without them the service suffers. Back office needs to support front line. The management at all levels started at the bottom and understand the challenges. Stay supportive.

I have been working at Police and Fire Federal Credit Union full-time for less than a year

      Pros

PFFCU is great with their employees as a whole. My manager is very supportive and the work environment as a whole is positive. The pay is decent for an entry level position, with plenty of room for incentive pay each month. The hours are decent as well.

      Cons

One of the best parts of working for a credit union is the focus on member service and not caring about monetizing the relationships made with members. Recently, however, management at PFFCU has made a switch toward a commercial bank mindset. They are heavily emphasizing sales numbers and convincing staff that these are "the best member service tactics." In reality, the new programs are forcing employees into pitching...

      Advice to Management

Ask your staff what they feel about the switch in culture. Everyone in-branch has noticed the switch. When coaching, don't try to fool them by telling them the scripts aren't sales-driven.
