I worked at Polk County - Florida full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and pension plan after six years of service (now it's eight years of service).

    Cons

Paid bi-weekly, dealing with some incompetent managers and staff members , no praise given for your hard work, no job growth potential unless you kiss butt or find another job and no raises given to employees due to budget cuts from 2009 to present but upper management got raises despite the economy.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and they'll take care of you and the company. When you don't, good staff members will leave and it's hard to get good people these days.
