I have been working at PolyOne full-time

    Pros

Collaborative environment that pushes you to work hard and rewards those that do. PolyOne is continuing to grow and make investments into their businesses. The management teams seek candid feedback and are supportive of new ideas.

    Cons

Some difficulty remains in getting some staff to support the changes occurring, which can squelch the enthusiasm of those on board.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work, these are exciting times for our organization.

    Pros

    Suwanee R&D:. Big on safety

    Cons

New management ruined the culture along with some company Brown nosers. Undercover prejudice, known as nice nasty. Can't trust anyone, if they don't like you? You will be set up on a PIP 30/60/90. And will work very hard to find any and every minimal thing to get you fired at the end of your 90 days.

    Advice to Management

Learn to manage. A real manager leads by example and shows true care and concern for their employees. A simple encouraging word would be nice. Also, you have ruined the culture. Everyone knows you are incompetent and it shows.

I have been working at PolyOne full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Collaborative atmosphere, working with top talent, incredible career development opportunities, and overall great people to work alongside. All employees are valued and respected. I worked as a summer intern and was thrilled to be asked to return full-time upon graduation (undergraduate degree).

    Cons

While some find that PolyOne being headquartered in a suburb as opposed to in a more urban setting might be a con, its location has proven to be very convenient for me!

    Advice to Management

PolyOne's managers consistently emphasize the importance of integrity and focus on ensuring that every employee has the opportunity to flourish. They also ensure a strong work-life balance for all. Management encourages innovation and propels PolyOne employees forward in their career, which is a difficult aspect to find in large corporations.

I have been working at PolyOne (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay, that's about it. Honestly. The company only follows the rules when it benefits them. It's a joke, unless you have a college degree.

    Cons

Insurance sucks, management sucks, you are pushed beyond your limits daily. They are always out of something you need, but still want their product. It's insane

If you are a good operator you will not move from that position. Trust me, I have tried. Once they see you can go fast and make good product. That is all you will do. Regardless of their "job postings"

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking sitting in a office makes you know it all. Let the production people do what they do.... that's make you money. Stop getting in the way. Just because you miss a shipment is not the end of the world. The main focus is your OPERATORS. Not shipping, not quality, not the front office people. Without the operators you get no product at all, what so ever

    I worked at PolyOne full-time

    Pros

    Training is pretty good
They are trying to become less stuffy

    Cons

They like to fire people - no job security
People have too much work - too few people to do it

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the talent you have. Quit always thinking the grass is greener on some college campus somewhere. These college hires stay a short time and move on to greener pastures leaving the real work to the old work horses who are not appreciated.

I worked at PolyOne full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good compensation and health benefits

    Cons

No room to grow not unless you want to relocate to East Coast or Mid West

    Advice to Management

Employees turn over at a company is also something a candidate will look into. It's a waste of training, skills and knowledge when you lose a seasoned employee. It will take years for a new one to fill in any position.

I worked at PolyOne full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay was on higher side of scale in my functional area.

    Cons

Business units call the shots and are silos, weak management, targets met through cost cutting not organic growth. Budgets would be cut two and three times well into new year.

    Advice to Management

Set objectives and manage to growth.
