    Pros

Great employees that really care! A fairly stable process.

    Cons

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT! Abuse their workers and take complete advantage of them!!! I was in management at the Elk Grove Facility in Illinois for over 5 years, and what was consistent was the abuse of employees. The high turnovers and the consistent change of overall management was just a joke... Its sad because the workers are solid there.

    Advice to Management

    WAKE UP!!!!

I have been working at PolyOne full-time

    Pros

    -Workers have outstanding work ethic
    -Good benefits

    Cons

-Work ethic isn't recognized by management despite working capital increasing
-No rush to hire because it costs too much
    -Unofficial 80 hour weeks, often
-Training is frowned upon because of time and cost
-Being an introvert is viewed as a weakness
-Career path is a mystery, even to management

    Advice to Management

Your employees are people first and foremost, not a means to make an extra penny. Try to understand what motivates each person individually instead of trying to motivate every person the same way

    I worked at PolyOne full-time

    Pros

Great recruiting angle. The company is nice and shiny from the outside.

    Cons

Poor on boarding , lack of support from "mentors". Lack of support from upper management. Sink or swim mentality. I left a job with 6 yrs of tenure to join an organization that I was lead to believe valued employees. It was a very disappointing experience.

    Advice to Management

Goals and objectives are not consistent between corporate and the field. Politics at facilities tend to overshadow "doing the right thing". You spend a lot on recruiting.....invest in your people.

I have been working at PolyOne full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Average to good benefits. Colleagues are good professionals within the field but not so the management. Company is well known in their technology space. Occasional good educational opportunities for employees.

    Cons

Seldom to none promotions. Very high employee turnover. Company continuously advertise on job boards and recruiters to fill vacancies. Management is comprised of greatly opportunistic "clubs" that for most part don't understand the business and lead the company downhill. Morale is down as employees fear for the future of the company and their jobs due to management's inexperience and mistakes that drives business away. All this adds up and increases expenses due to the need of continued employee replacements, customer's trust erosion due to company instability and gradual loss of technical edge due to migration of key professionals migrating to more stable and rewarding opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Support your key professionals and take preventive and proactive measures against internal bullying and covert discrimination, which in the long run, cost you money and demoralizes the whole organization.

    Pros

Smart people are hired, made good friends.

    Cons

Very arrogant company, politics and egos rule every decision. Employing smart people does not equate to great business decisions. Do not recommend working a this company. Very short-term focused. House of cards.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The pay is ok for the job description they give you, but your job description will NOT match the actual work you do.

    Cons

Most corporate employees have a corporate mindset and don't actually care about people in other locations, or about the lower paid people in corporate. Constant initiatives to eliminate your position will occur. Managers play favorites and don't even try to hide it. Special treatment is overlooked by HR Managers, most of whom are less than productive, yet their jobs are always secure. Managers will make up their own rules and change their minds frequently about the way they want things done. If you ever want to have proof of something (you will), get it in writing.

You will be hired with a promise of promotion (if that's something you express interest in during your interview), receive excellent performance reviews, and never be promoted.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and realize that the "good old boys/girls" way of thinking will not work if you want to keep the talent you work so hard to attract.
