I worked at Pomona College part-time

    Pros

The job offered flexible hours and the opportunity to advance within the workplace.
There was a shortage of workers, so there were always plenty of hours for students.

    Cons

Many jobs on campus pay very low wages. Student workers are not always valued. Additionally, some jobs require a serious level of commitment while others do not, but the pay level is not reflective of this.

    Advice to Management

The management should invest in paying students adequate wages while providing enough hours to meet students' needs. Additionally, the management could be more flexible in working with students' schedules as they shift throughout the semester.

I have been working at Pomona College full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pomona College is a great college with many amenities of its employees. Benefits are great, full gym access, discounted movie tickets, and even employee events.

    Cons

Management is self indulgent, and is heavily concerned with looking out for its own best interest. Contrary to what the college states, salaries are not up to industry standard. This is not a personal opinion, it is a fact.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to focus more on personal relationships with subordinates. Look at the bigger picture. Focus more on resolving conflict and less on whose fault it is.
