I worked at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice people to work with. Loved the patient and family demographics we dealt with. Pediatric hospitalists were very good and dedicated.

    Cons

This was a physically labor heavy position for a clerical associate. Clerical associates should not be doing patient transport and patient bed/room modifications, i.e., moving cribs, junior beds, and adult beds for room set ups throughout a ward. The need to move equipment exists but a clerical position should not be doing it. Clerical associates should be doing all clerical aspects and providing clerical support not physical labor. .

    Advice to Management

Be kind and honest and treat all employees fairly. I lost all respect for one manager because of the power games she played - blatantly favoring her daytime associates over her night shift associates on a very regular basis.

I worked at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Supportive of continuing education, innovative technology, competent/educated coworkers, family friendly workplace, easy freeway access for those who commute, great cafeteria, nurses and physicians all pull their own weight, ongoing training, clean working conditions, friendly people, great volunteers and just an all around great place to work.

    Cons

Surrounding area isn't the greatest, parking is not very convenient, understaffing can be an issue at times, employees often speak amongst each other in their native languages which is often frowned upon by patients.

    Advice to Management

Continue updating the medical equipment, ongoing training and more education compensation benefits would be wonderful.
