    Cons

Very cheap company. Do not pay well. Hard to get new clients in the pool industry. Health insurance is so bad!

    Pros

Local branches generally good to work at. Branch managers constantly fear for their jobs.

    Cons

Upper management a bit out of touch with lower level employees needs.

    Advice to Management

    Listen, listen, listen.

I worked at PoolCorp as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent Pay, Flexible Hours, Good Assignments, Work Freedom, Some Complimentary Lunches

    Cons

Hot Warehouse, Unstructured, Not Correlated to Job Description, Not Interesting

    Advice to Management

Need to learn to value employees more and give workers more autonomy. Definitely a decent job if you're desperate, but the unstructured program was a joke.

I have been working at PoolCorp full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great stepping stone, Lots of learning opportunities for people that want to take advantage of them, Lots of relocation possibilities, Relatively easy work

    Cons

Safety is an afterthought, Pay is relatively low, Good sales numbers hide poor managers - lots of Sales Center Mangers and Regional Mangers were promoted to their positions when the company was expanding exponentially and were chosen because they had been with the company the longest

    Advice to Management

Streamline pricing, have a smaller higher funded MIT program designed to actually create good Managers by taking smarter people and training instead of churn through anyone you can get your hands on hoping to find a diamond in the rough, Don't be afraid to spend money

    Pros

Good fit for recent college grads. Good money for basically getting paid to learn. Work with mostly good people and program provides well rounded training

    Cons

Run too lean causing employees to have little work life balance April-August . Not enough positions offered , HR should be more open about what they mean by relocation

    Advice to Management

Slightly lower sales per head count , find a way not too lose people by making them not have to relocate so far

    Pros

The job is never the same day to day. Many of the customers have been coming for years and have great relationships with the staff.

    Cons

First and foremost there is absolutely no regard to warehouse safety. We would store materials that would combust if mixed right next to each other along with materials that would also combust if exposed to water by the open warehouse doors.

    Advice to Management

Take a long hard look at your safety culture before somebody gets hurt or worse
