I have been working at Porch full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I'm given every tool I need to be successful and then some. I finally have an employer that respects my drive and dedication, and proves it with a vacation policy that says, as long as I'm hitting my goals, there is no policy. I'm shown heartfelt appreciation for my hard work which is a testament to the people living up to the values. No bureaucracy, no jerks.

    Cons

We've grown too quickly so space and time management are currently issues.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring passionate, motivated people that will uphold this company culture and values- the realest I've seen!

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Porch full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Workload can be rewarding, but it's very manual and repetitive. Quality-of-life improvements for employees are regularly brushed aside to build products that are implemented with almost no QA. These are the same poor products LMS/CSMs are expected to sell (and upsell). Luckily a new product focus is leading toward profitability, but it's nonetheless built on the innocent backs of wide-eyed, fresh college grads. The...

    Cons

The lack of experience throughout the company breeds a negative, elitist culture upheld by the few veterans actually running the show. The vast majority of the workforce is a lot like me (and maybe you, too): twenty-something millennials with a strong work ethic who are often ignored. For example, in the old space, they once had the entire office stop work mid-afternoon to sing happy birthday to one of the execs. I'm...

    Advice to Management

Never think you can successfully operate under the ideal of "No bureaucracy." The past 2.5 years is evidence of that.

    Cons

Low pay Stock options are minimal. If you are going to pay that low at least offer options, Not much advancement for contract workers Dealing with unhappy customers on a daily basis The sales reps sell a bad product with high expectations

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge what we deal with on a daily basis. Please pay accordingly Sales and account support managers are in over their heads. Support these teams more
