    I worked at Porch full-time

    Pros

It's difficult because there used to be so many. I loved my time at Porch and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I loved going to work because I could show up and be around all my best friends. We would work so hard, doing whatever extra we could to find creative solutions to make customers happy or to make it right when we fell short. Even if we had a customer yell at us or we were told something was a known issue that...

    Cons

I think the shift began a long time ago when they first started hiring outside for middle management. It was the right thing to do at the time because I don’t think any of us on the team would have been able to gain the respect necessary for the role, but I don’t think they picked the right people. We came from a culture where we learned so much from each other and always had each other’s backs, that it was difficult...

    I worked at Porch

    Pros

Free lunch Fridays Gift Cards Beer T-Shirts

    Cons

Leadership is lacking and the company has no direction. Boiler room atmosphere with people deceitfully selling bs dreams to people who do not need them. You will get harassed here and told to put out or get out. Very toxic environment with any outlet to be heard. Company continues to lie to keep people laboring away.

    Advice to Management

Get REAL management who specializes in various backgrounds. Stop promoting within friends and buddies who dont have a clue about working. Be TRANSPARENT! Stop being shady and tell people the truth.

I worked at Porch full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fast growing start up with lots to learn and great co-workers to grow with! Free lunch Fridays, keg always on ready to go after 3pm and ping pong whenever you want it! Culture is a bright and energetic.

    Cons

Growth is too fast at times and the growing pains stay longer than they should. Tenured Managers are all about Porch and ready to help you grow. New Managers are not quite on board with the Porch vibe and do not know how to get the department on track.

    Advice to Management

Step into the AM life for a week. Learn the struggles that we face on a daily basis and help us make them better. One day on the phone will not turn that department around. Account management is in desperate need of your help and expertise. Respect is gained by action and the AM team needs to see management and upper management get their hands dirty and dig deeper to find the core problems of the department.

    I worked at Porch full-time

    Pros

They give you free lunch and beer on Fridays. If you couldn't finish college and miss those frat house days, this is the place for you!

    Cons

For a company so focused on culture - they are clearly not in touch with their employees, but rather wish to package themselves with a pretty bow. The CEO's ego grows bigger everyday with very little to prove. They love PR and are willing to cheat their way to top of SEO. They hire 20 new employees a week, but lose equally each week. The smarter employees are quickly realizing they are sinking and leave to seek better...

I worked at Porch full-time for less than a year

    Pros

*Consistent 6-3, Monday through Friday schedule. *Free lunch catered every Friday. *Free breakfast bar is an excellent way to start the day. Unlimited coffee, as well. *Two kegs on tap for Friday afternoon. *Completely open door policy with upper management. They're also completely down to earth. *The VP of Sales is completely honest about how hard the job is.

    Cons

*100% cold calling. The average day you have between 80-100 dials. The vast majority of the pros that you talk to have never heard of Porch and are skeptical from the get-go. They're expecting it to be a scam. You get hung up on constantly. I've been cussed out in a couple different languages. And, on the flip side, you can have a great, hour long conversation with a pro, only to find out that they're not actually interested....

    Pros

Working for a company that is growing very fast My co-workers! I regularly hang out with mu co-workers outside of the office. We are a very tight group. Free snacks Health benefits Location - We are right off Lake Union and have a great rooftop for BBQ's Free lunch on Fridays

    Cons

This is an honest assessment of the nam and tam roles. The pay is VERY low. Paying in the low 30's is very tough to live on in Seattle. I make a huge sacrifice financially every month in this role to pay rent. No clear director or leader on the floor. Our director quit and our managers are in the office only about 75 percent of the time. I often rely on my more senior co-workers for help. New management seem...

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. I believe some of the most recent hires may not have been the best cultural fit. It will also give our team incentive to stick around and ride this out. How can you expect us to stay when there is no opportunity to move up? Please pay us a living wage. Upper management - Spend more time with us so you get a feel of what we deal with on a daily basis. You make us feel like we do not do well...

    Pros

Best co workers I have ever had. Everyone is approachable no matter what the title is. I would walk through a wall for the VP Sales. This guy is a smart talented leader. Free lunch on Fridays. (I am reaching here)

    Cons

Product has no value. I feel guilty taking money from small business owners knowing we can't deliver what we promise. i have seen a few great sales reps leave because they tried to sell a sub par product with integrity. Micromanagement is rampant and our middle managers do not have answers for the bad product we are selling. I ask a question and the answer is "sell more and make more dials, don't worry about the...

    Advice to Management

Like another commenter stated, please do not give us lip service and tell us how good the product is in the weekly stand ups. We have had the CMO, CMO and VP tell us we are helping professionals and it is simply not happening. Take a walk over to our Account Support team and ask them how they like the job and about success stories. They deal with my customers first hand and apparently it is nothing but complaints....

I have been working at Porch full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Porch is a high energy, positive, collaborate place to work. They value their employees and offer awesome incentives (we have a no vacation, vacation policy! whoop whoop). The group of people working here are not only incredibly bright, driven and talented but fun to hang out with as friends! I love that Porch is always looking to raise the bar and has high standards for their employees. It's great to sell and support...

    Cons

We move very quickly. This can be both good and bad. I believe in failing fast and learning from mistakes but can be overwhelming sometimes for new hires. Our training and on boarding needs to continue to get better to help new employees get up to speed.

    Advice to Management

Continue being transparent. Management sets very clear expectations of the team and I like knowing where I stand. They praise me and tell me when I'm doing great and are also very candid with me as far as where I need improvement. I feel like they genuinely care about my growth at Porch.
