I worked at Porsche Cars North America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can learn so much. Exciting business and great products. Good benefits. International company.

    Cons

uses old tech (at least in the US), paper heavy and many teams are understaffed. If you are not German than oversees opportunities are not accessible to you.

    Advice to Management

open oversees opportunities to Americans or non-Germans as well because we know that Porsche invests in them heavily to help them progress. So why not do the same for everyone else. Either you say you value everyone or don't pretend!

I worked at Porsche Cars North America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company and the brand name are well known and prestigious in the automotive world.

    Cons

The corporate culture is very German and is not easy to get use to. The executive team is almost exclusively German and there is very little growth opportunity within the organization.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to foster a better culture for growth opportunity to advance within the company.

I worked at Porsche Cars North America full-time

    Pros

Great, sexy product in a fast paced industry. Diverse customers allow for an enriching experience in a challenging environment.

    Cons

Inter-departmental cooperation is strained and negatively affects the business. Too much middle management hierarchy and inability to make decisions with no accountability. Complacency feels like the norm.

    Advice to Management

Empower those employees who positively affect the bottom line and identify and take action with regards to those who do not.

I worked at Porsche Cars North America (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great benefits including health/dental/vision
    - Good work/life balance, easy to get time off
    - Massive opportunities for commission

    Cons

    - You usually have to work when everyone else has time off such as black Friday etc. In fact you usually have much more work at this time because it's when people are looking to buy a new car.

I have been working at Porsche Cars North America (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a great company to intern. Interns are being expected to do real projects and not serve coffee or make copies. Internships are for six months and veg great way to learn and experience the cooperate environment.

    Cons

The employee headcount comes from Germany , so getting a full time is all about timing. So if you're looking to step your foot on the door and climb up the ladder, probably not a place to consider.

I worked at Porsche Cars North America (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are very friendly, professional and interesting. They come from a variety of different backgrounds from different countries so it feels like a very International place to work at, although the majority are either from the US or Germany. The benefits are very good and there is room for advancement within the company.

    Cons

I felt that in certain respects there was sometimes a lack of information regarding what information to provide to customers but part of that was due to having to wait for information from world headquarters in Germany. It is not easy to get a job there.

    Advice to Management

I had a very good rapport with management so all that I could suggest would be to continue good communication with employees and cross-departmental sharing of information.

I have been working at Porsche Cars North America (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing facilities, cool cars, fun schwag, get to say you work for Porsche.

People are really friendly, say hello and hold doors for you.

The cafe is amazing for a company cafeteria.

    Cons

They use Lotus Notes, a dispiriting kafka-esque piece of software designed to rob people of happiness. Seriously, do a search for "worst software".

Morale is not great. I heard many heartbreaking confessions from beleaguered employees about lack of resources and support for critical roles in the business.

Dress code says 'business casual" but it's really full business with a casual Friday.

    Advice to Management

You have a higher than normal number of unhappy employees with serious complaints that would cause me to lose sleep if it were my company. Do some surveys, start a dialog.
