    Pros

Great people in a team work environment, Company takes care of employees, very motivated people, great Company to work for.

    Cons

As any Airline, there is a lot of stress with the operation, operation during winter can be very hard with lots of weather incidents.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the great job you are doing, keep people as a priority and the team environment that exists between departments is something you should be proud of.

    Pros

The people that worked there were great. Felt like a family. Working around airplanes is very interesting - seeing operation behind the scenes

    Cons

Outdoors in freezing rain and snow. Pay could be better for the responsibility that you have. Split shifts were also abundant.

    Pros

Small, entertaining coworkers, unsupervised a lot of the times, starting pay better than most airlines, flexibility in getting days off, get to do multiple positions

    Cons

People will gossip and talk behind your back, couple leads who are incapable of doing their job correctly/professionally. Mood swings from coworkers. Entitled Canadians

    Advice to Management

You think that everything stays in the office but be aware that even your business and what you say gets out. You have a big mouth and don't remember who you spoke to and what you've said

I have been working at Porter Airlines full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Travel benefits comparable to a major airline
Enthusiastic and hard working group of employees

    Cons

Annual salary increases barely cover inflation
Limited RSP matching compared to other airlines
Per diem far below industry average
Limited room for advancement in flight operations departments
Guarantee days off for flight crew below industry average at 10/month
Middle management unreceptive to employee feedback
Focus on revenue at the expense of the integrity of day to day operations
High attrition rate in pilot group maintains a shallow experience pool

    Advice to Management

Offer more transparency to how policies are implemented.

Stop acting as a mouth piece for senior management and stand behind your employees.

    Pros

Great Team atmosphere, no micromanagement of tasks, left to our own devices. There was a lot of downtime 2-3 hours a time where you could do anything you wanted to pass the time.

    Cons

Equipment was exteremly old and of low quality. Understood this was a young company, but significant investment in equipment would increase safety of the workforce.

    Advice to Management

Managment needs to have more of an on hand approach, periodically coming out to join the workforce to gain an understanding of the current needs of employees.
