Great teamwork, good pay, fun, good benefits.

    Cons

Lots of drama and rumors always going around

    Advice to Management

Stop letting confidential information leak to employees. Screen your floor managers better. There were several that talked about personal issues of employees and shared information regarding fines and write ups of there employees.

I worked at Portfolio Recovery (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are fine. PTO and insurance are reasonably priced for coverage.

    Cons

Unless you are buddies with management, you will not last there, regardless of your work ethics and productivity. Many have been let go simply because management didn't like you. If you are outspoken about things that are wrong, you are more likely to get fired. They will make any excuse to get rid of you. Be quiet and don't make a fuss. Get along with management and maybe you will last. Maybe.

    Advice to Management

If integrity is one of the core values, act like it. Work is suposed to be a place where business is conducted properly and those who are doing it right are rewarded. Stop firing people who have exceeding productivity expectations that are showing up to work on time and those who report unethical practices. Do something about those issues and stop sweeping them under the rug because you like hanging out with them.

I worked at Portfolio Recovery full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The bonus's were extremely good and the upper management team was very helpful. Along with a lot of training and side by side instructions, people were very willing to help.

    Cons

You lost money out of your check every time one of your reps screwed up on the phone. You also had to work more than 40 hrs a week without overtime, the salary was just ok.

    Advice to Management

Take a good look at the company and the site you want to work for, its a great company with lots of benefits but the hours are long and the job is stressful.

I worked at Portfolio Recovery full-time

    Pros

Training is ok. Pay can be better. Nice co workers

    Cons

Schedule not flexible. Less than 40 hours including 39.99 will include a write up. This includes holidays when business is closed. Goal expectations are high with little chance to improve when you get mostly low dollar accounts. Miss goal lose pay. Management changeover frequently,

    Advice to Management

When you see people are trying don't harp so much on goals not being met.

I worked at Portfolio Recovery part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Staff was very kind. Result-oriented work environment was stressful at times but that was just the side effects of having hard and fast deadlines. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience while working for PRA.

    Cons

Since I was a temporary hire - I wouldn't be needed if the volume of work was below a certain number. If you were placed there through a staffing agency, and you're not full time w/ benefits, you're not guaranteed a full 40-hour work week.
